Quote:A little over a year ago, Stevie Nicks told Rolling Stone there was "more of a chance of an asteroid hitting the Earth" than Christine McVie returning to Fleetwood Mac. Well, it might be time to prepare for armageddon because the Mac's keyboardist and singer - who quit the band in 1998 after a three-decade stint in the group - is returning for a world tour beginning this September and a possible new album.

The tour, entitled On With the Show, will kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Target Center, with the band performing 34 shows in 33 cities across North America. American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Monday, March 31 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, April 6 at 10 p.m. Tickets go on sale beginning Monday, April 7 through the Live Nation mobile app and Live Nation's at website.

McVie says that her decision to leave the band was very simple. "I had some deluded idea that I wanted to live the 'country lady' life," she tells Rolling Stone. "But I went through a divorce and I felt isolated in the country. I grew quite ill and depressed." McVie realized the best way to fix her life was to rejoin Fleewood Mac, though Lindsey Buckingham admits he had some reservations when he first heard she wanted back in. "I wanted to make sure she grasped the weight of would it would entail," he says. "She also had to understand that if she was coming back that, basically, she has to stay. She wants to do it."

With McVie back in the band, the group will be able to perform songs like "Little Lies," "You Make Loving Fun," "Everywhere" and many other songs they haven't been able to play in nearly 20 years. "Being back is really a time warp," she says. "The tour is going to be great fun. I feel like a pig in poo right now."

Fleetwood Mac toured last year without Christine, though they had to stop short after bassist John McVie's cancer diagnosis. "His health is on the up," says Christine. "He's still doing chemotherapy. He just came in to do his bass parts, so everyone is real excited about that. He gets tired quickly, but he's definitely been on the mend. He's been such a man about this whole thing. I have renewed respect and love for him." McVie reunited with the band last year to perform "Don't Stop" in London.

The group spent time in mid-March working on new songs, though they don't plan on releasing anything until after the world tour. They have yet to sketch out an exact setlist, though Buckingham has a good idea of what they'll play. "It won't be too hard to figure out," he says. "Stevie and I both have songs we pretty much have to play. When you add in Christine's hits, you pretty much have a set, though that's not to say there won't be a few little surprises around the edges."

SN, December 2012:

Quote:Is there any chance that Christine McVie might guest at some point on this Fleetwood Mac tour?

I would say there's no more a chance of that happening than an asteroid hitting the earth. She is done. You know when you look in somebody's face and you can just tell? She doesn't want to do it anymore. She doesn't want to fly. She doesn't want to come back to America. When she left, she left. She sold her house, her piano, her car. She went to England and she has never been back since 1998, so it's not really feasible, as much as we would all like to think that she'll just change her mind one day. I don't think it'll happen. We love her, so we had to let her go.

Now, this looks interesting!!! I would love to go see Fleetwood Mac! And with all the original members too! I don't much like seeing bands where there is only one original member left and the rest of the band is all "new" members. They may they sound good, but it's not the same IMO. But Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks....with Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham, and John McVie!! Classic lineup!

Tickets go on sale on Monday, March 31st to American Express card members, then to general public on April 7th. Too bad I don't have an AE card. I probably have no chance of getting good seats without scalper prices $$

Fleetwood Mac in London in Sept, 2013

Sounds like Himm is in the audience.(listen to the cheers at the end of the song) hehe
I have never seen Fleetwood Mac--which is crazy--cause I Heart Stevie N.
Plus, they are way at the top of my bucket list for concerts. So, I am going to try & get tix to the Verizon Center in DC on Halloween.
(I only wish it was in Baltimore. We have concert venues here hahaha)
That's actually quite a story-her coming back to the the band after being away for 15+years.And at the age of 71.It will probably be terrifying and thrilling at the same time for her.But she's not lacking for fans as you can see in the video. Its amazing-the staying power of this band after so many years.

Actually I was in the audience of a Fleetwood Mac Concert at the Allstate Arena (Named Rosemont Horizon at the time on May 15, 1980) The same place I saw Haley Reinhart in Concert with the Idol Tour (Aug. 6, 2011). It was the opening event and I went with the sexy star of the Chicago Hustle - Janie Fincher - of the first women's pro basketball league.
The acoustics were horrible then and Stevie Nicks was very drugged out of her mind during the performance. We saw the band in their limo pass in front of us on their way to the venue.
Over the weekend, I watched a terrific documentary called “Sound City” which was the story of a small sound studio in Van Nuys CA started around 1969. The place was dumpy and in a nondescript industry park area, but produced some of the greatest LPs ever, including ones from Neil Young, Tom Petty, Grateful Dead, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar and Foreigner. Nirvana recorded “NeverMind” there in 1991 and the documentary was produced by Dave Grohl as a dedication to the studio. I highly recommend it if you love music history.

Anyway, regarding Fleetwood Mac, Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks recorded their first record “Buckingham-Nicks” there in 1973, but the record did not do well and they were later dropped from their label. So about a year later, Mick Fleetwood, who was in the very blues-based British band Fleetwood Mac, was in Sound City and listening to that record, and loved it. So shortly thereafter they met at the studio and Stevie and Lindsay agreed to join Fleetwood Mac. They recorded their first record there, “Fleetwood Mac”, in 1975 featuring the songs “Rhiannon”, “Say You Love Me”, “Landslide”, and “Monday Morning”. And the rest is history.

By the way, in those early days, the youthful and beautiful Stevie Nicks really did have quite a resemblance to Haley. Hopefully, luck or whatever smiles on Haley too and we get to enjoy her career in much the same way as Stevie.
Funny, after me discussing wanting to see Fleetwood Mac, my sister just called me and said she bought tickets to the show! In the NOSEBLEED section. Smile $100 a ticket. Even though it's suppose to be presale (if you have an American express card), the ticket brokers already have tickets online for up to 1770$, Ridiculous.
Appreciate the shows with Haley Wink
