Haley Reinhart from American idol season 11 came to finally visit..met a couple years ago in a parking garage...cool couple. ...then she sang with Robbie ...first single I ever owned .... #thedoors

"Light My Fire"

Great to see Haley get to sing a true rock classic with Robbie Krieger, the primary composer of the song. Rolling Stone readers picked LMF as the #6 top song of the 1960s
lol I was going to tweet that maybe she could perform "Light My Fire" for the Troubadour ... then decided it was a silly notion, because it was too late for a request Undecided

I think this means there's a really, really good chance she performs this at the Trobadour. I mean it's technically on the Target version of WTS. How awesome would that be? Cool

I'm so psyched Big Grin

Haley Reinhart (American Idol) takes the stage to perform the Doors hit single, "Light My Fire" with the Robby Krieger Band' at, the Canyon Club, in Santa Clarita.
Many people probably don't realize that, Robby, actually wrote the words to the song.

March 2018 article about the venue:

Quote:he entrepreneur behind five successful Southern California music venues is ramping things up at his newest club, The Canyon Santa Clarita, and he’s in negotiations to open another location in Montclair.

The 884-seat venue at Westfield Valencia Town Center in Santa Clarita opened Dec. 1 and has already played host to such diverse artists as Kris Kristofferson and Tower of Power. But Friday night’s bill offered something more. The Stone Temple Pilots had nearly finished their set when actor Johnny Depp jumped onstage for the band’s encore.

Sporting a Gibson Les Paul Special and wearing a hat, dark sunglasses and ragged jeans with a checkered shirt tied around his waist, Depp looked the part of a rock star. His appearance wasn’t exactly planned, but it didn’t surprise Lance Sterling. He’s the president and CEO of Agoura-based Sterling Venue Ventures LLC, which operates the Santa Clarita venue, The Rose in Pasadena, The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills and The Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, in addition to managing the music program at Libby Bowl in Ojai.

“We’ve always had stars get up onstage like that,” he said. “Richie Sambora, who played with Bon Jovi, shows up all the time. I was really surprised to see how many musicians live in Santa Clarita. A lot of the guys from Warrant and Ratt live out there. I see them all the time.”

The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills is Sterling’s oldest venue. It’s been around for 20 years and during that time, he’s learned a thing or two about what it takes to get a new club up and running.

“I think it comes down to our marketing,” he said. “We know what kinds of demographic we thrive in and that’s basically families that make between $65,000 to $150,000 a year. We also notice that a lot of our patrons live in tract homes. They tend to be more communal and they go out in groups of 10 to 20 at a time.”

The Santa Clarita club has been a big success, according to Sterling.

“That one ramped up immediately,” he said. “It’s probably our No. 2 venue right now, just behind the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills. I think it will be our top location very soon.”
It's great to see the way Haley has been gradually expanding her network of musical friends in L.A. Hanging with "Jeffy" Goldblum one night, then playing with Robbie Krieger the next (as well as at his show). That local TV news guy also seemed rather smitten earlier in the week. These growing breadth and depth of her connections gives her more exposure, more cred, and more opportunities. Her new management also is looking good.

It looks like her show was a big success. When I saw the clip of Haley singing with Catie I was reminded just how much better Haley is relative to your typical AI singer. Having her perform on stage with Haley was a thrill for the kid and brings in some new eyes and ears (a Scott Bradlee type move).

He's also the cover story of the July edition of British GQ magazine:

"How Jeff Goldblum became the coolest guy in Hollywood."

While Goldblum doesn't have a lot of screen time he is a draw for Jurassic World. The film is doing quite well. A great connection for Haley.

Casey brought Jesse Elder into to town at the Triple Door, much to my delight, I've really enjoyed following Jesse, he's one of those preternaturally talented types, they don't even have to try (but I have no doubt, as PMJ's music director, he works hard. Anyways, for my newest vid from that show, this is, I think, only the 2nd instrumental video on my channel, after my 2nd video on my channel, Irvin Mayfield's tribute to his father. Each PMJ member had their time to shine, all cohesive w/ a hint of chaos....

I didn't recognise the song so I reached out on Twitter by tweeting out ten seconds of it and asking Casey and Jesse. ISCAT had the answer, but Jesse also answered me...
