Hi guys. I haven't been on here for awhile. So many choices between twitter, snapchat, instagram, Halienation and Haleyfans. Tongue I can't keep up with all of it.

It has been wonderful following Haley and watching her evolve into the polished pro that she is. I have been following her from the beginning in AI. I will always love her voice with it's rasp, it's power, her Haley wail, the control she has over her voice, and her versatility with all the genres she masters.

When I heard that Haley was touring in Europe, I thought it was a great opportunity to see her sing and visit a place I had never been before. I figured if I didnt go now, I might never go. After talking with fellow Halien Pat, who was game to go to Ireland, we decided to go for it. My husband luckily understood my Haley fandom, and after my daughter said "Oh Mom Just go", I bought my ticket that same day. Dublin it was!! Pat and I planned to stay and tour Ireland while we were there too. Fellow Haliens Himm2, Ken, and Nug joined us.

We all met up the day before the show to see the sights in Dublin. I have to say I have met some wonderful people thru this forum. We are all from different walks of life but have our common interest of Haley. I have had such fun over the past 6 years and cherish the friendships I have made. HeartHeart

On the day of the show, after checking out the sights like good tourists, we wanted to make sure we checked out Haley's venue, Whelans, just in case the band might be around. Himm and Nug were able to see Haley and her tour bus as it pulled up to the venue in the afternoon as they had eaten lunch across the street from Whelans. Those lucky guys. I actually can't remember why Pat, Ken and I weren't there. except we came along a little later and all we saw was band equipment outside the venue and a big storage bin with Haley's name on it. Haha

After going back to our hotel to change, we walked in the rain to Whelans. We were let in the venue for the VIP about 615pm. It had a bar and a second room with tables. Not too big. There was a larger room with the stage in the back which was closed off for the show. There were 12 of us and we got to hang out in the bar area for about 25 minutes before we were let in for MG. Pat has posted pics on her instagram of different folks she met at MG. They were 2 brothers who had come from New York and had gone to all of Haley's Europe shows. They were very friendly and a couple pictures were taken with them. There was a couple I met when we were waiting outside before we went in Whelans. I asked them if they had seen Haley before. The girl looked at me and said who?? I thought it was funny and said don't you know who your seeing? The guy smiled and told his girlfriend that Haley Reinhart was the artist performing. She started laughing and hugging him. I guess it was a surprise and he han't told her yet! He assured me it was ok as it was a few minutess before we went inside but I felt kind of bad. She was a big fan of Haley's from AI. How was I to know... haha

Anyway once we were let in the back room for MG. Haley was there on stage, waved and said hi and gave a hug to us Americans! (See Himms video) She sung Behave for sound check. Then took pictures with all of us and talked a little with each.

As always her concert was perfect!! The venue was small, holds 400 but about 150 people were there. Being so close to the stage was very cool. Haley's just so good, so confident. Love the power in her voice! Love watching her dance! And her songs really take off when you hear them live! The band as others have said were on top of their game. All excellent musicians! loved Jesse on keyboard! John Notto slayed his solos, Ray cool guy drummer! Just top notch!

The only downside is recording videos takes away from the full experience of the show a little. I was right in front so couldn't capture everyone in the band either. I recorded about 2/3s of the show but on a couple videos I hear some singing along. could that be me?? Rolleyes sorry....

There was a guy standing next to me for the show. He was a big fan of Haley's but had never seen her live. He was at the MG too and was a laid back, quite guy. Well after the show he was just sooo excited, I thought he was goong to start jumping up and down. Guess he was impressed with Haley! Love seeing that

After the show several of us waited around to see If Haley would come out to mingle. Her sister, Angie, who was the merchandise girl, had gone to school for a semester in Dublin and had several friends there. They were just delightful, so friendly and started singing Irish songs as a group. Haley came out after a bit and that's when we took our group photo. She thanked us for coming and we left her with Angie and company. Just a wonderful night!

Before leaving the bar area we saw Jesse and Darwin getting a drink. I told them how great they sounded. Both were gracious and kind.

Of course my visit in Ireland was amazing too! Beautiful country and friendly Irish people!!

When's the next show!!!

Loved the recap Babbsie.
Vacationing in a foreign country, and then getting to see Haley put on a great show up close. Plus, meeting fans from far and wide. What a memorable experience. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I love reading such long recaps! With all the experiences and impressions and little stories! Thanks for sharing and taking the time! Love to be part of it through reading!

Yeah, not the most effective thing when news and postings get spread too much over multiple sites and media rather than being in one or two places mainly, but I guess it is unavoidable and will only increase as her fame grows ... and of course hats off to all who devote their time and energy to such sites and forums! (Personally, though, I clearly prefer HF because it has a solid, sustainable format and does not monitor me in order to sell my privacy without telling me - thanks to Miguel.)

I love reading the long recaps too! That's why I wanted to make sure I posted something about my trip. Was my turn. Only fair. WinkWink I have pictures to go with my stories but having trouble remembering how to resize the pics etc so I asked Miguel for help. Will share my pics soon. Big Grin
The easiest way to post pics, I find is to tweet them out, then right click the pic, choose "copy image address"...then on HF, chose the icon above the comment area that looks like a sun over a mountain, then paste the image address in box that appears, like so...

Funny, from my perspective, the short term loss of the "full experience" of seeing a show because I'm videoing is balanced out by the fact that I get to 're-live' the show again and again long after the show is over through the videos.

One would think that I would be burned out editing so many videos of so many shows, but I really can't get enough of watching Haley perform, whether in TeamHaleyFans video or from other shows....

My short term memory has always been poor but each day, I can log onto Youtube and relive these shows again. My eyesight has never been great, but when I video, I would make sure the camera/phone is lined up, then watch the show past the camera, so I don't really miss anything. If I get a wide enough shot, I can do post video editing to crop out, or reframe the shot.... Like for instance, because of the garish light set up in Berlin, I came away thinking I would get the fewest videos from there, and although I enjoyed my whole time in Germany w/ XAtlantic and his daughter, I felt a little disappointed that I left some 'memories' of the show because of the poor video.

Now that I'm home, with a PC and speakers instead of laptop and earbuds, I was able to take a fresher look at the video I took in Berlin, reliving that performance through the videos, I've decided of the 3 shows I saw, Berlin might have been my favorite of Haley's performances. The audio for Berlin wasn't near as poor as I thought it was when I first listened to it on my laptop. Haley has fun with her band and audience at every show, but the venue, Haley's outfit, the vibe of the show, I would say Berlin's show had the most 'character' and I loved that I could relive them through video I didn't think I could work with and post Tongue

Berlin's performance of Behave, after I worked w/ it, is now my favorite performance of that song (used to be Solana Beach)

Paris, arguably the 'best' show of the 3 I saw in terms of the fun Haley was having on stage, her french accent, how the Parisian fans responded to anytime Ray was featured, drums and vocals, and the impression of the band itself, that Paris was a special performance.

Ironically, London was the show I had the best 'fan' experience because they didn't give camera access, I ended up spending alot of time with other fans and got to be in the front row after ages of being far in the back to try and capture good, unclipped, unbuzzing audio. London is the set I will post all the songs from, is my favorite, front row fan experience, yet my favorite show of the 3 I saw is the one that was in a cozy, dark and garishly lit venue in Berlin where Haley dressed the part of a 60's era siren, appropriate for the covers she sang....

Before I left for my trip to Europe, there was an interview in which Haley was asked what the difference was between US and European crowds. Haley observed that there seemed fewer Euro fans videoing, that they were more into enjoying the show... I don't think that was meant as a 'shot' at US fans, more an observation, and from my perspective, she or Team Haley can't have minded me doing it so much, as I was eventually allowed on my discretion (after running two videos through them) to post what video I saw fit, without the need for them to OK it.

And as you see in Haley's recent Instagram, Team Haley was able to make use of the various media and videos we fans provided from the shows to make an effective and fun montage recap of Haley's Euro tour

It must have been fun to see 3 shows in a row. When Haley has her next US tour I want to follow her to a few shows in a row! That would be cool to experience that.

And Tusk, its true that it's fun to have the videos you've recorded at a show to see over and over. And I do watch the show around my camera. But I have to remain still, can't dance or sing with the songs. On one of the songs I recorded, I started swaying to the music. so can't post that one.... Tongue

And as a bit of nostalgia, Himm was the first Halien I met 5 years ago. Tusk was the second. We all went together to see Haley at Lolapalooza the summer of 2012! What a ride it's been! Heart
