Great picture and write-up about Haley!!
They're a SALES organization ! Salesmen have to be a bit assertive and have a bit of swagger (bit.. confidence Vital, arrogance Terrible)
Their name is important . "hello this is mat from Ole " is a call that need to get through. I can assure you from leasing and selling real estate that names on signs help, and even reinforce word of mouth from people who trust and have worked with you in the past. They want to know you're still hungry....
They seem to be doing a pretty good job with Listen up ...4 songs placed so far with a 5th on the way evidently.
Free (nordtroms, and retail store ambient music among others)
Oh My!, TV show spots including 90212 or melrose place or whatever it was. college football, DVD ads
Undone - big budget movie placement as a key element of a scene (short scene, yet still focal to it as the main chracter was dancing to it.)
Hit the Ground Running, College Football, High profile Nashville TV show Adds... and another.. what was that.
Now, it sure likes they have their sights on
Lets Run Away ... which is a no-brainer kind of track-able song (I guess that's the term for music that accompanies scenes or activities?)
I'll play a game with some others which I think would lend themselves well to ad placement spots etc even if they might be a harder initial (once people know them thats a different story) song to get played on the radio etc.
Now that you're here that feels like if feets a show new season promo exactly the way Hit the Ground running did for the first season of Nashville maybe even for year two of Nashville ? lol . It's up beat I know I'll think of other places for it .. bit too cool for ads I think. ..
Let's Call it Heaven - Airline/Vacation site add (or Graduation Gifts, or graduation scene on TV? Glee? )
Wonderland - Key soundtrack and promotion song for a Romantic comedy.. even say, Shrek 17 or something? (with a minor tweak or two in lyrics it could also be a good graduation Song
Spiderweb - obviously works for a horror movie, but whether it would get written in or if its too specific etc raises some questions and needs to fall into place --- although a TV serial drama (do they have music on day soaps ?) kinda of thing might have easy ways to work it in ..
Liar might be an easy sell to that type of show too.. both are great songs but i'm not so sure they're as easy to use for track music ... not that I know but i'm thinking a clean energetic sort of rhythm is what they're looking for on that .
Keep on coming Back is another good song that I could see as ambient music in movies... more so if the idea of the story fits the lyrics . I think with these three they're more ROCK and I don't think that rock has that quality they want with adds except when the rock song is such a classic old hit that it doesn't step on a message but is the message by associating the product with the known great thing the song is. (That's just a person that knows nothing sharing theories by the way)
Wasted tears doesn't quite work for me in an accompaniment type of way but other's might brainstorm a good fit.
Follow Me (I'm right behind you) - I'll stick with my cult/film noire prediction.. that's going to be about a director discovery on their own not about an Ole sale I think
What You don't know won't hurt you - this is an excellent song that, (cringe -again) oh I have a whole long post about its commercial possibilities.. I'll stop here
