After LU I was wondering how her new songs would compare (so many artists dissapoint). I am thrilled that she has stayed true to her jazzy sound, but can't believe how catching this song is from the first listening. Wouldn't it be great if it was released WITH the scatting at the end, and this became part of the signature Haley sound, not just a Vegas thing?

I didn't realize until a later post that the scatting bonus may have been due to Casey and if true, then I think they need to tour togher!! Wonder if we will ever get a real Haley tour.... oh well, need to appreciate each new chapter as it comes.

Thanks Miguel, Babbs and john for posting the pics, twitter comments and videos. Thanks yanni and Tusk for recording Haley and Casey’s fabulous performances. I get as much enjoyment out of watching the sound checks as the actual show. Looking forward to more videos.

I agree, “My Cake” is now one of my favorites and the song embraces everything I love about Haley, the soul, the grit, the rasp, the groove, the Haley styling and of course her scatting. If this is a taste of her next album, then it just gets better and better if that’s possible.

Hi Haliens! I haven't posted in a while, but I lurk just about every day... I was at the show last night and I thought she was AWESOME! It was the first time I've seen her live, and I will say she is actually better live than recorded or on TV, and I would not have thought that was possible.

She looked beautiful, sounded better, and yes, "Cake" is serious business. So thrilled to hear something new from her and to like it as much as I did.

I was standing about five people back, right in the middle. I saw some people I suspected were Turk, Himm, etc., but I was being bashful and didn't say hi. Now that I see pictures, I definitely remember seeing some of you.

I'll post a few pictures when my friend wakes up. He took a ton of shots. I took one video of "Hit the Ground Running" and then my iPhone died in the middle of it. :-(

I want to thank every Halien that uploaded vines, tweets, videos, and comments throughout all her performance. It's awesome to know that you Haliens, took your time to share that while the concert was taking place, so that us (Haliens overseas) coul enjoy it 'Live', feeling ike we were there. Or at least near. It's great that you're so caring and think about everyone that couldn't be there. That speaks a lot. Thank you Haliens ocne again. Anyone else would've turned off their cellphones and just enjoy the concert!

to tell you all a secret.. grace potter has supplanted Haley on my listening list lately .. .. in part due to not having been fed enough new Haley.. and in part due to where my head is at.... I've been craving a bit rougher rock/rural sound

This song is exactly in the grace potter mode that I've been really enjoying a lot recently. When I say that, I mean song on the albums that in sum have a different sound that the GP songs with the most radio play. I have all 4 of her albums now plus a live concert recording...

This is more off-topic, but I had to comment on this... I love Grace Potter too. Their sound started being too 'country-folk' but their last two albums are more rock. What's great about Grace is that she's got great energy on stage. And when Haley said there would be more rock and blues on her next album, I thought maybe she would start reminiding me of her.
But both, great singers, great performers. Haley should cover one of their songs.
And don't worry about 'supplanting'. I mean, I'm sure that when she releases something new she'll be the most listened artist on our lists. But there's no need to limit yourself to one artist Specially because this is the first new Haley track in a while

Its Casey's sax player (see Himm2's video w Casey and Harry). Before the song, Haley introduced him by saying she "borrowed" him from Casey.

I'm spending all day with fam, have to check out from hotel, then will try go join my audio to the excellent video of Haley's set, then I also have some Casey's set

Holy moly! I grew up watching the Flintstones, and while I'd enjoyed the theme song, I'd certainly never thought of it as a jazz jam. But these two "youngins" have, without a doubt, proven that it is indeed! What fun! Both of them are getting in seriously good licks! Phew!

MF8, when I saw your earlier question, I suspected that it might have been the guy some of us came to learn about last weekend. (Thanks for saving me the trouble of going to the other thread, Tusk.)
