I was confused by that, but I think Block wrote it given the writing style (vs that of Dannig). On FB the name is a link.

The bummer so far is that it's not only Trolls that the uproar is about, it also includes fans of Haley's who want her to sing their preferred genre... My post on youtube

BUT there is a small subset of us who listen to Haley because we love what Haley represents, we love her diversity, we recognise her talent and potential and are thrilled with whatever she comes up with through her hard work and persistence.

I am one of these fans. I don't LOVE all the songs she's done, but I love that she creates from what courses naturally through her bones, that Talent. If I'm not crazy about one song, she'll come up with something that knocks me off my feet.

I know that there are disappointed fans because they don't care for this genre, that doesn't mean she's going to stop singing Jazz or Blues or Rock or Pop. She will sing it all because she loves all kinds of music..... That's Haley, and that's the Haley that I love and support 

^^^^ PERFECTLY stated Tusk! I am one of those fans too! Part of the draw to Haley is that she can do so many genres. How can you ever get bored? There is always something new she is doing, like the hand harmonica thingy she did with Casey. That was pretty cool. Most artists, you get bored with after awhile. All their songs start sounding the same to me.

I know Haley will prevail. Music is in her blood, and after seeing her parents perform for so many years, not to get famous, not to get rich, but for the love of the music, she is grounded. And what young 23 year old doesn't want to experiment, and explore, and see what they are capable of doing.

But it is disheartening to see so many negative comments. If you dont like the music, fine, but why brag about not liking it. just go away.

I know American Idol try to force everyone to find a lane, but I think musical longevity has shown that the opposite is true.

Kelly Clarkson is still popular because she can keep herself relevant. She can sing different styles of music and therefore isn't trapped an unable to make modern music. She sings country, pop, and rock.

Carrie Underwood, even though she's stayed mainly country..still shows her versatility in that she can sing pop and she can sing rock and you can hear those influences in her music. If it wasn't there, perhaps she would have faded in the country world with the male takeover.

Haley is capable of singing literally any genre. That versatility is a good thing. She's dabbling into the electronic genre, she can sing R&B, pop, rock, Jazz, blues, funk..you name it..Haley can do it. That's an advantage she has. I think trying to force her into a box is a mistake. Let her grow and allow herself to be relevant.

Ummm yes, and no. Yes, her versatility is a good thing, for her as well as her audience. But I don't believe Haley has tried, or wants to sing opera, so there is one genre that's missing. And with that rasp of hers, I'm not sure her voice would be suited for it.

Fortunately, I doubt that her fans are lamenting that lack (in her versatility) -- certainly not the group here.
