RE: Guitar Solos - LovinDaHaley - 07-28-2012 ^ Oh ![]() ![]() Joe Bonamassa Guitar Jam With Michael Casswell RE: Guitar Solos - john - 07-31-2012 Lots of good stuff in this thread. (Kinda missed a lot of posts when this thread was cooking.) Back in the day this stuff was certainly a staple of my musical appetite. Humble Pie was great in concert with little Steve Marriott jumpin around. I remember him doing an extended version of IDNND and throwing down the mike singing (screaming) "I don't need no f*cking microphone" and proceeding to sing a few verses without one. Here is some Rory Gallegher. RE: Guitar Solos - LovinDaHaley - 07-31-2012 ^ Rory Gallagher sure is a charismatic performer. I would like to have seen him with his power trio band "Taste" in person. I have a few of their albums in my inherited record collection, but none from Rory's solo career. My dad loved how multi talented he was (sing-songwriter, great guitarist, and not too terrible on the sax either). For me personally, I just love the feel and mood unique to the bluesy Irish rock bands of the 60s and 70s. And not unlike Haley Reinhart, I often feel that I should have been born a few decades sooner (and maybe even in Ireland). And ya Dr. J, lol, Steve Marriott sure was an aggressive one. (understatement?). But I do love his voice and how powerfully it was used for rocking the house. He was so vocally talented and skilled- One of the best rock singers ever IMHO. He and Rory Gallagher both died way too young damnit! Here's a nice little segment of "Taste" if you have a little spare time; it definitely contains a good dose of spectacular moments: RE: Guitar Solos - LovinDaHaley - 08-02-2012 Steve Vai Performing at the June 13, 2012 Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC ) Awards

Well, this is Bass Jam ![]() Stanley Clarke, Flea, Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm, Marcus Miller and Stewart Copeland Kind of noisy in my opinion, but has some terrific bass solos in it. RE: Guitar Solos - Tusk - 08-22-2012 Someone say Bass player? ![]() How about a black Irishman? RE: Guitar Solos - LovinDaHaley - 08-22-2012 ^ Two thumbs way up for Jailbreak! And "Cowboy" too, a kickin'-it guitar jam. I've looked for a good Jailbreak video before, but this is the first one that made the collection. Good quality too, nice find. ![]() RE: Guitar Solos - Tusk - 08-22-2012 I agree, I lived in the UK at the time, and alot of bands lip synced on Top of the Pops, but this performance was definitely live and one of the best performances of that song I've seen. Really talented, and gone from this Earth too soon. Such is Rock and Roll sometimes I guess... (Kind of interesting the artists listed in the countdown before the performance...Billy Connolly? The Comedian? WTF? ![]() A quick search.... was it for this song? I don't remember it ![]() |
