I know TMZ has a constitutional right of freedom of speech, but I don't see any remorse from these people that trash celebrities and entertainers. Are you saying it could be worse meaning there is more to come? Or it could have been worse, I believe Haley can recover from this. ![]() RE: Sundays in LA - Brenna Whitaker - Miguel - 08-30-2012 It could be worse in that only 0.0023% of TMZ followers retweeted it. Most people don't care. The video only has about 1K views. Some people chime in because they like to bash all things American Idol. Others are Michael Jackson fans who are shocked/upset she didn't know the lyrics. RE: Sundays in LA - Brenna Whitaker - john - 08-30-2012 TMZ does this tabloid crap. They are making a story out of nothing by hyping it as if it were something. A few people will be "outraged" by her behavior (wtf?), others will be mildly amused or bemused, but most people won't know anything about it and if they do hear of it, they won't care about it. IMO. If some folks hold it against Haley, then they aren't fans of Haley -- they don't like who she is. Que sera sera. Given that the storm ended up lingering in Louisiana and left (to quote something/someone I saw on CNN) "more water than Katrina." Sigh -- it's so sad that this happened again to an area that has struggled to recover from the devastation of Katrina. Anyway, MNB, it seems that the trajectory for Isaac has changed, and if Houston receives any "Isaac related-weather," it seems (at this point) that it shouldn't be too bad. Miguel, do you know if there are haleyfans.com members who live in the areas most affected by Isaac's wrath? Thanks, Miguel! Hopefully, no haleyfans are affected, but a number of other people in Louisiana are. So tragic, although many of them were warned. RE: Sundays in LA - Brenna Whitaker - Tom22 - 08-31-2012 They say any publicity is good publicity . I wouldn't worry about the TMZ thing one single bit... I'd even say it was a positive because everyone know TMZ is about snarking and the key is they snark about stars. It they talk about you they're reinforcing that you're a star worthy of being talked about. I do feel bad about the "respect from one's peers" part. Even if she had the actual lyrics down, she seemed a long way from doing that song enough justice to be singing in front of some Hollywood elite. Not a super great decision. From the background noise and stuff, it had the feel that it was a bit of a side show, or well before things really got in the groove and everyone was there getting into the vibe (I hope so). She seemed personable enough and casual enough that, I think that stars and producers might give her the benefit of the doubt and look at it as "ok , that wasn't a very good decision sweets... wrong song and don't do things you're not ready to do right... we all screw up sometimes" and not "that girl has no business being here" . Hopefully she'll get a higher profile shot at redemption with a chance to do "moanin" or something. ) I really think producers having her songs in movies and tv shows.. maybe a title song even. I think the stuff she writes and sings is especially fit for that. I said that here before the Undone placement and I feel that more than ever. Director David Lynch really broke open Chris Isaaks career with using his song (s) in his movies. So, yeah... important place to make an impression... high odds of catching the right ear... But TMZ phht! ... who cares, ....
