So True as was my experience with Haley singing at the Girl Scouts Gig with only her dad on acoustic guitar. Her voice alone provides so much richness that it doesn't need to be drowned out by overdone instrumentation. Many bands in the 70's had very mediocre vocals and relied on the heavy beat & percussion to carry it and cover up for the fact that the vocals were poor.
