I like what's happening with Haley right now. First of all, she's having a blast and seems to keep things in a very healthy perspective. What I like about her current situation is that she is doing shows for paying audiences. Performing in these live venues moves her beyond the song promo stuff, which was getting pretty routinized, and requires her to expand her playlist. She is gaining experience doing longer shows and she has the opportunity to interact with the audience and learn from that. If American Idol was star boot camp, I suppose this is along the lines of paying ones dues and putting in the hours necessary to master the craft.
I'm not worried about Haley becoming successful, she has oodles of talent and determination. There is a steady interest in her music in a variety of outlets and the media people tend to really like her. And I can see her coming out with an even stronger album the second time around a' la Adele.
The more she gets to perform now in these smaller venues the better IMO. Her skill set is continually being developed and polished which will serve her well when she hits the bigtime. I'd love to see her do a little tour of these small clubs.

Haley didn't come out of the gate strong like a lot of people thought she would going gold or platinum in the first month. The thing about Haley is she's consistent slow and steady. She's really honing her skills doing the small venues getting acquainted how crowds respond to her and how her and John collaborates as a musical team. John you're right it's a lot of hours a lot of overtime lot of working without a day off. But Haley is young and she has the stamina and endurance to do it. We can expect nothing but good things from her. It may be a while who knows before she does make it big and she might not, I think that is her fans and her family's wish to see that success coming from her. She said so I think it was in a quote that for her just to enjoy the ride and enjoy what u are doing. It just makes life so much easier and you're so much more responsive when you love what you do.

Haley love from here in the north woods. As I sit by the camp fire here in northern MN I have 'God Bless the Child' and 'Blues in the Night' on repeat from Carnegie Hall. The stars are stellar with a slight breeze out of the south, temp in the 30s. I went 20 years not drinking alcohol as we raised our children to set an example. Now I am sipping a little whiskey tonight in honor of the one who has brought such musical joy into my life. The great outdoors, the sounds of Haley...it doesn't gets better any better than this. It doesn't matter how many love her, all that matters is we do! She's incredible and the fact that we all understand this is what makes us happy to be Haliens.

I see happiness in Haley's Family. They truly seem to perform for the joy of it and not for the money. They don't mention the tip jar. It gives me so much pleasure to see how they thrive on audience appreciation. I marvel at how Haley respectfully mentions her family and their family values. From what I've seen of the McCreery's & Lauren's mom they are $uccess driven and probably not quite as comfortably contented.

So true. Harry and Patti seem like really decent honest hardworking people who also happen to be very talented musicians. They've obviously passed that down to Haley and Angie. I haven't had the pleasure/honor of meeting Harry or Patti yet, as you have Himm2, but hopefully someday I will, so I can tell them what a great job they have done.
