Harry sat & chatted with us during the set break at Firkin for at least 10 minutes and the funniest thing he told us was that Haley was pulled over by a cop in LA with his lights flashing. As he approached her car she couldn't understand what she did wrong. With a scowling look on his face as she rolled down the window, he suddenly smiled and said: "I voted for you on Idol and just wanted to say HI!" No ticket issued. Maybe she should have given him a ticket (to her next show) or at least a warning. Wonder if it was Mark Fuhrman.

If I was his boss I woulda kicked him off the force. Wonder what woulda happened if a celebrity got pulled over just for a cop to say hi and they were caught with alcohol or marijuana on their breath. Or worse had an accident or a heart attack while panicing in the flashing lights. Miley Cyrus...beware!!!

Well, depending on his prior history, kicking him off the force might be a bit extreme, but some form of discipline would seem appropriate. If not downright abuse, it would seem that it's, at least, a misuse of position/badge.
And, in regards to your earlier remark about Mark Furhman, he may likely still be (comfortably) ensconced in Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho.

IMO, we are at the "mercy" of the police force. They can stop us for anything they like. I told a story last night, after Harry told of Haley's encounter with the cops, where I was stopped on my way home from work last year. The cop picked me out of a bunch of cars stopped at a traffic light. I had 2 small (1.5 inch) soft dice hanging from the drivers rear view mirror. Now, It is illegal to have anything hanging from your mirror and "obstructing your view" Ha, but I didn't know this at the time. He told me I could get a $200 ticket for "obstructing my view" because of the dice. I think I started laughing at him.
He proceeded to ask me where I worked etc, and then wanted me to diagnose an "unknown condition" he had. He talked for several minutes, then said he wanted to give me something, because he liked me. He brought out 2 high beam miniature flashlights and told me to pick one. which I did. Needless to say, I did not get a ticket, or a warning, only a flashlight for my keychain.
It was the strangest encounter I have had with a cop.
