RE: Haley making a video with Scott Bradlee and PMJ - Tusk - 01-13-2015 Thing is, Haley's older fans have to understand, while we know Haley as a sweetheart, the industry she's chosen to make her career, like it or not, is not one of sweetness and innocence. Haley has to find that right balance, that fit, that suits her. It's unrealistic to apply "morals" of the past to the young of the present. Being one of the more well known of her fans, I've been engaged by some of her older fans on similar topic regarding Haley. Her professional persona has been consistent, somewhat sexualized mixed in with playful "innocence", but still significantly less so than much of what exists today in the entertainment industry. We want her to succeed, but it should be on her terms. We know she's bright, talented and trusts her instincts above all, the only thing she trusts more are her parents. To hold her to whatever our personal morals are, is to limit her talent, her instincts, what she believes her path to be. Out of High school, I decided to convert my passion for art into a career. What "killed" that passion for me, was having to do it for others, most of whom didn't understand the artistic process. I completely lost my passion for what I used to love, what gave me the most joy.... Until I discovered Haley. Seeing her pursue that passion reignited it for me, something missing in my life for over 20 years. Haley had the "balls" to stick to her instincts, when I did not. In 3 years of following Haley, there are still fans that implore Haley to stay innocent. But she is and has always been who she is, has always followed her instincts despite all the doubts that has arisen around her decisions. I told the last father I talked to, concerned for his daughter who idolizes Haley, look past the facade Haley has put up as her professional persona, and see the strong, willing to stick to her instincts despite protest woman she has become, one that has taken full control of her career in a difficult industry. IMO, THAT, beyond her otherwordly vocals, is what makes Haley remarkable RE: Haley making a video with Scott Bradlee and PMJ - Miguel - 01-13-2015 Quote: Tove Lo retweeted Quote:Tove Lo @iamtovelo 7m The video is being tweeted by many people from foreign lands at the moment. While the song itself isn't a favorite of mine, Haley does an amazing job with it. Her voice sounds really rich and textured to me. I love the little scats too. ![]() RE: Haley making a video with Scott Bradlee and PMJ - NUG - 01-13-2015 I wonder how long it'll take the view count to update? I'm loving Haley on this song I'm interested in who "Diabolus" is- they seem to be spending a lot of time hating lol. The compliments must be positively painful for them. Quote:Can't say I was impressed by the song (nor the silly tart sitting on the bar ... Why??!), but the video made up for it when Adam came in and took over the bass (except for the melodica ... Watch the intonation difference between the melodica and piano, boys!). Got to love Adam - so much cheeky-boy charisma. But, Scott is the one I want to entrap between my sexy thighs. Quote:Top Bloke, I don't know if that's true or not, but I don't wish Scott and Robyn any bad luck. But, if Scott is single now ... Well, I'll definitely be waiting for him when he's on tour in the UK! By the way, I'm not a boy. I'm a woman. RE: Haley making a video with Scott Bradlee and PMJ - ISCAT4HALEY - 01-13-2015 I am old school and understand I am probably out of touch with the music culture of today. All I will say is that you can never go wrong with the jazzy touch Haley places on any song augmented in this instance by Scott Bradlee’s arrangement. I’m hoping for that door to swing wide open. I listened to the original yesturday for the first time and thought is was interesting and creative but couldn't imagine how Haley would translate it to a Jazzy version that would work. I was amazed at how well her version shows off her voice and style!! I hope it finds her many new fans.... and hopefully she can take advantage of the momentum and get the EP out SOON!!! Also, I thought it was really nice for Tove Lo endorse the interpretation. |
