From the crowd noise I would say that a large percentage of the crowd was there to see a celebrity rather then listen to the beautiful music.

It is kind of a party scene. Everyone's drinking and dancing. More are there just for the good time. Haley told us she's been there a few other times and got to sing in front of Mel Gibson + other famous people!

Someday an entire audience will be quietly spellbound by the power of Haley's Incredible voice enough to shut up and listen up with their full undivided attention instead of thinking their drunken chatter with friends is more important.

Something like that. The bass player is also very perceptive to a subtle gesture she makes at the beginning when she points to the monitors (probably because she can't hear herself) and the bass player player gets word to whomever is doing sound to "fix it."

You are right, but here is another thing. One of these days Haley is going to have go on the road and have people show up and PAY to see her. Right now, I believe she has not been a headliner where people pay to see JUST her (or maybe on a handful of occasions--the HOB in Chicago maybe). She has done festivals, and malls, and bars, and Vegas, and this and that.
This next CD release to me is critical, and how she handles it. As noted, she needs to sign with a label that fully supports her and promotes her, but she also needs to get on the road and tour and tour and tour, hopefully with a kick-ass band.
Or maybe she does not want that life--maybe she wants to be writer, or maybe just a Hollywood/LA red carpet gal/socialite who just does things here and there. I am not sure. I do know if she wants to really have a long term music career, she needs to start thinking about whatever it takes that will get people to drive to a club/venue and pay to see her.
