I posted a belated Happy BDay for Paul McCartney who turned 72 with a clip posted on Instagram of Haley and Harry singing the Beatles' "If I Fell"

I edited the vid to fit the 640X640 Instagram format, but for some reason, the uploaded file retained it's 720 width/horizontal orientation, resulting in the bizarre framing of the scene (you should see more of Haley and Harry). I tried a couple more times w/ the same result then gave up

I still remember the night that her and Haley were performing on Idol. I remember how much Haley kicked her ass. Seems like Interscope decided to only support one of them, and Haley's the one that came up short.
Funny you should mention Del Rey. As Haley was leaving, someone mentioned the Stageit Show, after which we all started lobbing requests for the show... (lol poor Haley).... one of the request was some Lana Del Rey. I couldn't hear the whole of Haley's response but I heard something to the effect of, not wanting to cover current artists (royalties/rights or professional courtesy?)... The next day, someone mentioned that they had requested Adele, and Haley politely declined. Made me think of her reply regarding Del Rey, why it didn't' occur to me she couldn't/shouldn't cover contemporaries..
Plus, isn't Del Rey still an Interscope artist?
Just my chance to vent. Lana Del Rey, on the cover of Rolling Stone and now a big star on Interscope, recently admitted:
“It's commentary, like, 'I know what you think of me,' and I'm alluding to that. You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying."
I am not a hater, but I tried listening to Lana Del Rey's music. I found most of it dull, listless and languid. I remember her performing on American Idol, thinking--really? This is a singer that will sell a lot of records? I guess I was wrong. Haley blew her away when she performed on Idol. And by the end of the year, she is off the label. Meanwhile, Miss "sleeps with lots of guys in the industry" is a blazing star with a recent Number One.
Gee who was running Interscope back when they signed her?
Anyway--good for Lana--and all her success. I am not a fan of hers, but whatever. Sorry for the venting............

Edit: Ah, now I notice it is unlisted. So thanks even more for sharing it here! Maybe someday someone somewhere turns it into as a tutorial for the piano playing cover singers out there!

Keith has an unerring ear and sense of what will work. I hope he is well. Haley is moving on and finding fine musicians to work with but I will always miss Keith.
I do find it weird to watch the keys moving without the "player" actually playing.

I asked for them to play Undone a second time, the song I REALLY wanted to record, because a friend was talking over the music the first, (didn't talk over WT or Oh My). Sure enough as I began to record it a 2nd time, the gentleman walked in and began talking over it again, lol
. So I had to splice together the "best" parts of Undone from two different recordings to be able to post this lolStill, I told them this was a truly special and unique capture of a fine musician, to never lose it
(They also had Keith playing BATJ, but I didn't, though now I wish I did, record it)
