I get the feeling listening to Haley urging us to buy the pre-order CD that she might have a contract clause for a greater share in any special pre-order offering. It is a bit more money than the regular CD. I just believe some more of it goes to Haley. . . and that sounds great to me. Hope everyone buys the pre-order CD.

Plus, all the pre-order sales will accrue to first week sales helping her to debut up the charts.

If all her twitter followers would pre-order she would EASILY top the charts week one.
How it charts influences other buyers. Some music buyers look at the charts and buy the top ten rather than research their music.

Promotional activities have a powerful impact. J-Lo doesn't have to worry when she releases a single as the promo activities will ensure airplay.

The last few days there has been a lot of chatter on Twitter about "Free" originating from the Philippines and Indonesia. "Listen Up!" just went on sale in the Philippines and "Free" is getting radio play.

^^Those ads are targeted so it's hard to know how many people see them. I looked at some hard drives online at Newegg yesterday and now I see ads for hard drives at Newegg on YT, as well as an ad for local health club. Go to Zappos and chances are you'll see shoe ads. I think many of us get Haley ads because we visit various Haley things online.

Possibly. But from a marketing perspective I would think they are placing the ads on videos with similar music to expose those artists' fans to Haley. Otherwise you might as well run the ads next to Haley's videos.

Speaking of which, I turned off my ad blocker and on the video for "Free" an ad for "Tiesto at "Miami Music Week 2012" played and there's a related ad in the right-hand column.

In any case, it's good to see they are still advertising the album. PJ noted today that the movie theater promotion of "Free" has ended:
