I am in the US and getting stats from Spotify and YT. Pretty sure YT is worldwide since the comments are worldwide under the videos. Spotify's play numbers are global.
It's a good question. RIAA says "Record labels are required to validate that titles redeemed through product sales/on-demand streams and counted towards certification have actually been distributed or downloaded within the United States. Only domestic sales and sales to United States military post exchanges may be included."
Downloads have pretty well dried up now but Kworb estimates total unit sales (in the United States) at 290K (30K this year). So, CHFIL needs 106,500,000 streams to the United States to reach platinum status (710,000 x 150).
CHFIL currently has 83 million streams on Spotify. Spotify had a 35% market share (ref) at the end of 2016. Apple was #2 and growing and Amazon and various others are players. So the streaming audio numbers are likely to be significantly higher than 83 million. But, of course, the numbers have to be adjusted to remove non-U.S. streamers.
Youtube has 50 million views and, again, non-US viewers don't count.
So, bottom line is that the record is very close to reaching the criteria for platinum. It could be there by now, depending on the number of streams on services other than Spotify and the portion delivered to the US.
The RIAA does not automatically count and award the certifications; they do an audit when the record label requests one. When the audit for CHFIL was conducted it might have had sales (equivalents) well in excess of the 500K needed for gold certification. While it is quite possible that the record has already met the sales criteria for platinum, nothing would/will happen until an audit is requested and completed.

Today when I was driving to work in the morning I was going through radio stations when I hit 93.9 and I heard Haley singing Can't Help Falling In Love!! I caught it somewhere in the middle of the song, so I heard most of it.

I don't watch a lot of TV but have seen the short commercial a couple of times recently. According to iSpot.tv the ad has now been aired 27,276 times. It continues to run about 48-49 times per day.

CHFIL now has 89,500,000 streams on Spotify, gain of 6,500,000 in the past 42 days.
That is more than 154K per day, which is the same as the previous period and at a rate that is higher than the average for all of 2017.
Quick count indicates she is getting about 46K views per day on the top four YT videos over the past 6 weeks.

Currently iSpot.tv reports 30,877 airings, an increase of 2058 since Miguel's post. So it has been playing more than 100 times per day for the past month. A freakin' classic commercial.
