I talk about going back to my "regular" life, but only after:
1: Seeing Midnight at their annual Haleyween party at PS pub this Saturday
2: attending the AlyceParis fashion show on Nov 9th, where Haley is performing
3: seeing The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra with guest singer, Haley on Nov 21st with fellow HF buddies.
Can't wait!!!

And don't worry, you'll read all about it. One of us will record the Chicago Theatre show on Nov 21st if we can, (I'm going with professionals ya know
).Haley will probably only sing 1 or 2 songs at the AlyceParis show, as there are 4 others artists performing. I will record it. Himm has expressed some interest in attending as well, so I'll give him the honors (he's taller than me as i think we'll be standing) if he goes.

Yes, Tusk, as you note, Haley really should put something out to continue to maintain her base of fans and Haliens. As noted, it has been about a year and a half since “Listen Up” came out, and she is not even with a label now. So, you have to figure if she does get signed, there will be another six months or so before a full CD release. Unfortunately she probably does not want to release an EP now that may steal the thunder of a new CD, featuring “Better”, “My Cake”, “Black Velvet” or whatever.
I guess this goes back to what kind of artist do we want Haley to be? Or what does she want to be? She seems perfectly happy doing these one off gigs, doing some writing via Ole, and just enjoying the fun LA lifestyle with all her new friends. I would love to see Haley go on the road with a real band and tour, tour, tour, but I am thinking that is not her scene. (But look at the potential of her on a tour—from the Buffalo Grove Days concert and a week of rehearsal—a knockout performance!) Then I remember she is just 23 years old –so young---and so when things happen, they will happen. The long list of artists who did not hit their commercial stride until their second, third, fourth albums is a mile long. I think we are all on HST—Haley Standard Time—regarding a new release or whatever is next. And, we all just have to accept that….

If you think about it, Haley and Casey and their friends exist at the tipping point of the paradigm shift in how to be a working musician in an era that has proven that the old ways are exactly that, they are antiquated.
Just as the once powerful "BlockBuster Videos" overcharging because they could, is now a distant memory, the old ways of the label is seeing the continuing erosion of once reliable revenue streams.
An artist has to find another way, and giving complete rights to a system that is fighting the change it inevitably has to go through, is not a real option
Casey seems to have a talent for social media and video, and he's using his opportunities when they occur.
Haley appears to be foundation building, write a ton of songs, collect revenue forever for those that sell. Gaining valuable studio and networking experience...this isn't talking work, it's doing work.
No one knows of Label prospects, there was a period of excitement, but not much to go on. It's hard to believe that Haley has heard no offers, so it really comes down to what she wants, and, like Jazz consumed her interest when she found she had a knack for it in high school, and became their Jazz Band's first Jazz vocalist. Maybe her taste of the song writing/selling process has taken some of that interest, who knows....?
We shall see..... the talent is there, no doubt, it comes down to the opportunity and timing of how things lay out and only Haley knows those
