RE: AMERICAN IDOL - Season ELEVEN - Miguel - 05-02-2012 I didn't watch the show tonight, but reviewing the last 6 pages of comments at MJBB, it seems the general consensus is that PP did poorly. These set-lists are obviously for public consumption and would be much easier to produce on a computer. ![]() RE: AMERICAN IDOL - Season ELEVEN - Miguel - 05-02-2012 Quote:Pia Toscano @PiaToscano RE: AMERICAN IDOL - Season ELEVEN - Miguel - 05-03-2012 Joshua Ledet versus Haley and other Idols Hollywood.com: Quote:Over the course of its 11 seasons, American Idol has produced a healthy supply of classic Idols. I’m not talking about the Carrie Underwoods or Jennifer Hudsons, superstars who, during their tenure on the show, only teased their future abilities, making us unsure as to whether they actually did have a shot to become an A-lister after the glitz of reality TV wore off. I’m talking about the classic Idols who not only accumulated an overzealous fanbase, but also managed to make an already addictive Idol even more intriguing, no matter their success level following the show. I’m referring Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Bo Bice, David Cook, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Haley Reinhart, and, yes, I’d even say Blake Lewis, More...http://www.hollywood.com/content/news_detail.aspx?id=26080154&p=1 RE: AMERICAN IDOL - Season ELEVEN - Haleylvr4evr - 05-03-2012 (05-02-2012, 08:27 PM)Miguel Wrote: I didn't watch the show tonight, but reviewing the last 6 pages of comments at MJBB, it seems the general consensus is that PP did poorly. Yes, I think he'll go home tonight. One can only hope. But the judges continued to fawn over his alleged "artistry" and he is a cute WGWG. I thought his audition displayed nothing but destructive versions of some good songs, and he made to Hollywood. But, hopefully, you are correct that last night would be his last time to do "bad versions of original songs" '' at least, on AI. RE: AMERICAN IDOL - Season ELEVEN - buzzenator - 05-03-2012 I have a confession to make...I've been watching Idol Season 11 even though I declared a boycott earlier. I needed a reason to take down my foam brick from the shelve for throwing at the TV. Which is why I have quite the arm now, because every appearance of the 'damn dawg' that brick hits the mark. You know you're not supposed to kick the dog, but you can throw a foam brick at one...they actually think it's a play thing. Anyway, I digressed...actually my wife wants to watch it after we have recorded it on the DVR so we don't have to watch the 45 minutes of commercials. She is a big P2 fan, likes everything he does. I've noticed they are handing out Standing Os like it's candy this year. I mean how many SOs does Joshua have this season...8-10? And we're only at the Top 5. When Jlo declared Joshua was maybe the greatest singer in the past 50 years my Uncle Nigel alarm went off. It's not a conspiracy theory if they are actually manipulating the results. As Haliens we all know what Uncle Nigel is capable of. Idol is now faced with 3 or 4 competing reality singing competitions. What does Idol have that the rest lack? Idol has a stable of successful artists they can proudly point to. Does it seem to the rest of you that Idol is starting to promote their former contestants a lot more. How many former contestants have come back to perform this season...7-10? Even a seventh place finisher from last year's show gets a returning gig...well Stefano is on a roll. Checking Jlo's notes from my viewing angle I think I see a new judging trend of trying to minimize the WGWG (White guy with guitar) in the last couple of episodes in favor of Uncle Nigel's preferred outcome. The WGWG formula did not produce huge artistic results in record sales in the past...see Kris Allen and Lee Dewyze. I think Idol is worried that another WGWG who is popular with the young teen girls is looking like the eventual winner. I think they are trying to do something that will alter that outcome. ![]() RE: AMERICAN IDOL - Season ELEVEN - John Brown - 05-03-2012 (05-03-2012, 07:20 AM)Haleylvr4evr Wrote:(05-02-2012, 08:27 PM)Miguel Wrote: I didn't watch the show tonight, but reviewing the last 6 pages of comments at MJBB, it seems the general consensus is that PP did poorly. Yes...hands down last night I thought he was the worse of the bunch, but I think he has the largest fan base of all the contestants. Thus, I won't be surprised if he isn't even in the final three (maybe final 2 if they do it like last year), but nevertheless I do agree that he is the one that deserves to go home after last night.
