They both have extraordinary talent (in some different ways, although the common theme is their musicality) and when combined..... Well, we know what we've experienced from past performances, but they could still surprise us, displaying even more than we've seen. And, frankly, I can't wait for that!
I want to see them together --at Jazz Alley (in Seattle) with Keith at keyboards -- soon...

Haley recently tweeted in response to someone that we could expect new music before the end of the year.

Haley told me something about working on an EP and us hearing new music "SOON" on February 15th of this year. Haha.

I actually like it
It was a bit jarring because I'd heard Caley's version a ton before I listened to it, but, after listening to it a few times, I discovered I really like it's textures.....

They hit that sweet spot where Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell and Trent Reznor reside

It's got a catchy, spooky vibe. It's very simple and AWOLNATION can only do so much with it. Haley and Casey brought new dimensions to the song, which it needs. I find Caley's version much more musically interesting.

They aim to please, that Stageit performance really was all you could ask for, they did the unexpected, executed exceedingly well, they didn't post prizes, they barely advertised it, it went much longer than I even expected, I thought, maybe 40 minutes....?
If I didn't know any better, it felt like it was a special show for their dyed in the wool fans, it was a more cohesive, tight show than I expected, it felt different....

I was impressed with how tight they were doing various songs, especially since they were changing them up a bit. I was also struck by the fullness of the sound at times -- considering it was just two voices and Casey playing.
There was a bit of WTF? going on for me. I want them to collaborate more. Maybe write some songs together. Explore that synergy. I hope they feel some of the excitement and potential many of their fans feel.
