I guess I didn't realize that Youtube compresses video so much. The original file is 277 megabytes. I just viewed the original and the audio track is much cleaner on that. I also had cropped the first 30 seconds of the original recording after uploading it because I didn't like some of the background talk that got picked up. That might have further degraded it from the original. I think the pastel colors add something to the dramatic effect. I very much appreciate your effort Tusk - I think anything from the original uploaded to Youtube won't be as good as what I was able to burn directly to a DVD rather than compressed on Youtube. Unfortunately my newer DVD Recorder lost it's ability to burn discs so I had to transfer it from that hard drive to my older DVD Recorder so even my DVD's are degraded a bit. Thanks for giving it a great effort. It's still a great unexpected song sung beautifully by Haley no matter what the quality.

It compressed Buzz's too, they're both YouTube grabs. Buzz's video is bigger than yours, higher resolution, better sound.
Buzz's compressed file is bigger than your compressed file. Buzz's original uncompressed video is probably bigger than your original uncompressed video too,
Cropping doesn't degrade video, has no effect on the video quality, cropping it just cuts it
Furthermore "DVD" quality is no longer considered HD. It's an older technology, maybe 2 generations old
My Solana Beach original file, for instance is 700 mb, and that's just from a camera phone

Wow - this video I really like very much! I feel this is a very good outcome. The visual quality here goes very well with the iconic song - and Haley sings it superbly, of which this is a document that rises to the occasion, given the circumstances. Congratulations - a keeper, definitely! The opening is really nice. Well done!

A true team effort on a classic performance. Thanks for the visuals, Steve; the audio, Buzz; and the post production work, Tusk.
It all works together in a way that goes beyond just documenting the event and highlights the quality of Haley's performance.
