Did they create the arrangements in advance or were they creating them more on the fly. This should be interesting. #therealthing RE: Day 1, album #3? - Tusk - 01-31-2017 Thought these tweets from Scott are interesting...especially that most of us 'assume' Haley signed w/ Concord (signs point to) but she/they have yet to announce it... It is odd if there's a label working with Haley in producing 'HR3' (aka What's That Sound?") that they're keeping it 'secret' Haley's signed with Ole who appear to be proactive, outside the box...perhaps Haley has an arrangement with someone that gives her access to resources, without the anchor of a signed contract? Certainly out of the box, if true... Just thinking out loud ![]() RE: Day 1, album #3? - Miguel - 01-31-2017 Scott has done it without a label. I think he established a relationship with Concord because he wanted to distribute "Essentials" as a physical record. I'm inclined to think Haley has some sort of agreement with a label that approached her after CHFIL took off because support materialized for a tour and she racked up nearly a month of studio time. That isn't cheap, and she hasn't established the income streams that Scott does (YT/Shows). RE: Day 1, album #3? - Tusk - 01-31-2017 I guess my point is, I wouldn't put it pass Haley to arrange something unconventional. With regards to income streams, she may not have what Scott does, but is 'ahead of the game' thnx to her Idol experience as far as recognition and a fan base that comes from across the world, something most artists would kill for. Also, if there's some kind of unconventional arrangement, I would expect that she also has Ole's clout behind her for support & access/opportunity....Ole seems to have a record of backing their creatives RE: Day 1, album #3? - riley - 01-31-2017 Who knows what deals are cut, but a month in a studio ain't cheap as Miguel said. Scott is helping her that is for sure. He is even on her album. Good for her if she makes it work in 2017 being her own record label with a little help from her friends, if that's what she wants. I am very excited to see what comes of this. Taking a 1960's song Haley Reinharting it and using it the lyrics from the song as the name for her record is fun and creative. RE: Day 1, album #3? - rmd1064 - 01-31-2017 Here is hoping that Haley is signed with Concord Records. I think she needs the foundation and support of a solid label to move her forward. I look at a "Better" which has so many good songs (IBTY, Listen, LIWFF), but once the CD is released, there is little or no promotion other than Haley herself. The "Better" video did OK, but the song never caught on. When she was on tour in Pittsburgh last year, there was no promotion or advertising for the concert, anywhere, in any local media outlet, radio stations or newspaper. A label would make sure that a concert tour is promoted. Lauren Alaina just released her new CD and she was already on "Good Morning America." Just think if Haley ever got that kind of push!!!--she needs a national platform and promotion. That is why I believe a label is important. I have to think Concord and her have agreed on something, because as noted. a month of studio time would cost a fortune. Guess we will find out soon enough...with the CD dropping in May... Guess we will find out soon enough...with the CD dropping in May... A few years back, long before #Better, a Halien I spoke to contacted the Reinharts to offer studio time to them 'for free'. He had 'minor' contacts in the industry (not in LA) figured that he could help her in other ways than $$. It got complicated after that, but I know it was legit bc Harry had mentioned it in passing when I spoke w/ him back then. Either way, they thanked him but turned it down, either the timing wasn't right or they didn't have what they needed ready, or they had other plans, I never got the full story, just bits and pieces. Point is, as expensive as Studio time is, there are ways to get it w/o Labels involvement. It's possible, IF Haley is working w/ Concord, it could be similar to what Miguel said about Scott's arrangement w/ them, a means for better distribution. Haley has said she wants to be able to put out vinyl albums as well, maybe being partnered w/ Concord makes that more conceivable? Either way, my original point, that it's possible that Haley is doing this unconventionally, without being 'signed' per se, is possible. Laying the groundwork, making connections these past 3-4 years, perhaps now, she's calling some of that in to help her w/ her next album? Or she could be signed and not wanting to announce it for some reason...also possible....just putting this thought out there, fodder to initiate conversation during this slow time ![]() ![]() RE: Day 1, album #3? - JMT - 01-31-2017 (01-31-2017, 03:46 PM)rmd1064 Wrote: Here is hoping that Haley is signed with Concord Records. While Haley could release a 3rd record w/o a label-- perhaps some arrangement with Ole or the support of 'friends'-- she's not going to be able to promote it aggressively without a label. My thinking has always been that she cancelled the European leg of the Tour because her relationship with a label was close to being finalized. She (or they) floated the idea to take a step back, record a new record, and then promote it on a new set of dates in Europe. And then a new U.S Tour focusing on parts of the country she missed last year. |
