RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Court appearance (Feb 2018) - Tusk - 02-28-2018 Her lawyer failed her, or she said they never gave her an option for a jury trial....not sure if "they" was the court, but if that was available and her lawyer didn't inform her of that option, that is a HUGE fail on their part. TMZ is still Team Haley and believe a jury would've considered the context which it didn't sound like the Judge did. Regarding the video the Judge referred to (Haley doesn't know if it will be released), she said the video is one of those poor stop/start types, frame to frame, so she thinks it was very up to interpretation, of which she disagreed w/ what the Judge saw It could be the Judge didn't give her an option for a jury trial, but if that was available to her and her legal team didn't advise her? All I can say, Haley deserves better... ![]() RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Court appearance (Feb 2018) - Himm2 - 03-01-2018 Most Lawyers are worthless in my experience. I would think with all the air miles & continuances she's endured with this bogus charge she just wanted it to be over with without another delay & added costs to her for a jury or an appeal. It's not even close to a felony and not worthy of a misdemeanor and won't affect anything in her future other than some misinformed idiot's social media opinion. It will be expunged in two years anyway. RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Court appearance (Feb 2018) - Haleylvr4evr - 03-02-2018 I am just thankful that this is all over with. We all know how sweet and genuinely kind Haley is, and that she would never intentionally hurt someone. ![]() ![]() RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Does she mean the prosecutors and nightclub? It wouldn't surprise me if they are. This is how I see it too Tusk... very well expressed .. beyond my capability with words. I agree that to a large extent the courts hands were somewhat tied if the attorney didn't make the point .. and Haley only tacitly made the point in a mixed fashion in the interview, that the contact she had was more of a push away, not a punch... but she was wishy washy on that sort of justifying whatever happened by talking about what others were doing rather than talking about her actions. I DO believe she was justfied however, being justified doesn't mean you avoid punishiment ... I'd shoot a guy that molested my kid but I'd deserve to go to jail for some sort of murder ... perhaps with only a 10 year sentence instead of life in prison etc. Also.. attacking the courts goes nowhere.. the courts need to uphold the rule of law over violence and they weren't throwing the book at her in terms of punishment or anything. But.. Haley attacking the restaurant and stating that they are getting away unpunished more tactfully indicts the police without calling them corrupt. Her "read the Yelp reviews to see how often this happens" was the right approach. INMO .. rather than talking about disgreement with the judge.. which is a mixed publicity thing ... sure to rub some wrong, and to rub future judges wrong (and let face it.. all stars get accused more and if she's got a life ahead in entertainment she will certainly be accused of wrongdoing again ... even if by someone in the public trying to shake her down for money) ... She NEEDS judges on her side.. they'll read this crap like any humans will and be slightly biased against her for her slights. BETTER would have been a broad call like "I am really sorry to have gotten caught up in this dangerous situations from a dangerously run place and sorry that the tussle broke out as I was trying to escape... sorry and confused that the bouncer saw my defensive pushback as a deliberate blow meant to hurt. Still I really want to encourage everyone to come forward and voice their experiences on places like yelp and elsewhere and report abusive bouncer behavior to newspapers and the police to prevent what is far too common thuggery" "Just think if my friends could get abused like this with our benefit of the doubt, think how minorities and others must get abused by bar staff all the time. We need to speak out on this and raise public awareness and encourage law enforcment to keep bouncers from using their job title as an excuse for violence". She can certainly be proactive.. just call for a believe in the system improving rather than attacking the judicial system that would be the cause of help. RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Court appearance (Feb 2018) - Miguel - 03-06-2018 Haley's lawyer is running for judge -- The 12th Subcircuit https://www.carminetrombettaforjudge.com/ 5 candidates... https://www.ballotready.org/positions/79719 Quote:In the 12th subcircuit (Maki vacancy), which includes parts of Wheeling, Northfield, New Trier, Elk Grove and Maine townships, the Illinois State Bar Association rated Alan M. Jacob as not recommended and Thomas Raymond Molitor as not qualified. The ISBA rated David Studenroth, Joel Chupack and Carmine Trombetta qualified. ^ interesting Trombetta is the only one with mixed recommendations Comment on article: Quote:The Bar Association ratings are a joke. You go before a committee for 15 minutes and they decide if your "qualified" or not. An attorney I know, with 42 years of trial experience was found "unqualified" by the ISBA for no known reason while all of the other Bar Associations who sat in on the same interview found him hignly qualified. As usual in Cook County it's who you know and not what you know. http://www.dailyherald.com/news/20180301/bar-associations-release-cook-county-judicial-candidate-recommendations The judge hearing Haley's case was James Karahalios. There's another judge in the area named Peter Karahalios. And one who retired in 2010 named Pamela G. Karahalios. RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Court appearance (Feb 2018) - mercfan3 - 03-07-2018 Haley got off with a "guilty" (after recorded video) and a 500 dollar fine..that might be waved as well as her misdemeanor. Her lawyer did a good job. Generally speaking, law tends to go with the more conservative option. RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017). Court appearance (Feb 2018) - Tusk - 03-08-2018 Even though a hater or two has posted a comment to me on Twitter (usually condescendingly) these people matter not at all to me, I'm sure they matter much less to Haley. Reacting to them gives them more effort than they're worth. At this point, it's in the past, I trust Haley will be able to expunge it from her record, then it's as if it never happened. Haley and her career are so much bigger than this and therefore there's little else to say, but "onwards and upwards" ![]() RE: Haley arrested in Palatine, IL (July 2017).
