RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project - Tusk - 07-31-2014 Just realised, that David Block post, it's signed "Daniel Gutierrez"... That's Dannig's message I was confused by that, but I think Block wrote it given the writing style (vs that of Dannig). On FB the name is a link. Like saying my next album is coming out "soon". She's good at keeping us hanging on. Could mean anywhere from next week to next year. ![]() (07-31-2014, 03:23 PM)PotterFan1029 Wrote: All the more reason we need to make this as much of a success as possible: so Haley is more enticing to labels who are considering signing herAnd success with the video may help give her a bigger slice of the pie. ![]() ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not to change the subject but try to say "HOLY HOOPING HALIENS" 3 times fast.... can you do it? I love that phrase! ![]() ![]() RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project - Tusk - 07-31-2014 The bummer so far is that it's not only Trolls that the uproar is about, it also includes fans of Haley's who want her to sing their preferred genre... My post on youtube Quote:I think if you step back for perspective, it's because Haley is able to do so many genres well that people are chagrined when she switches away from their preferred style. The Rock fans annoyed when she performs Jazz, the Jazz fans are annoyed she performs Pop, the Pop fans are annoyed when she performs Rock RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project - Babbs234 - 07-31-2014 ^^^^ PERFECTLY stated Tusk! I am one of those fans too! Part of the draw to Haley is that she can do so many genres. How can you ever get bored? There is always something new she is doing, like the hand harmonica thingy she did with Casey. That was pretty cool. Most artists, you get bored with after awhile. All their songs start sounding the same to me. I know Haley will prevail. Music is in her blood, and after seeing her parents perform for so many years, not to get famous, not to get rich, but for the love of the music, she is grounded. And what young 23 year old doesn't want to experiment, and explore, and see what they are capable of doing. But it is disheartening to see so many negative comments. If you dont like the music, fine, but why brag about not liking it. just go away. ![]() RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project - john - 07-31-2014 Comments on David Block's FB Quote:Wahkeena Sitka found it. watched it. gorgeous. Quote:Shalom Marie Haters gonna hate... Haley needs to keep on being her Gorgeous Bright hearted and True Self!!! She is Amazing!!! Quote:Aaron La Lux Yo it's like an intergalactic burning man party! Wait... Burning man is also an intergalactic burning man ∆ Quote:Ryan Rosenblum Interesting. People have different tastes in music, so you'll always get that...in everything really...however, if you are 'in everyone's face' like "Please LIKE my video" and "This is such a great video" then you're bound to get this kind of feedback because frankly it's obnoxious. What if people were to approach promotion a bit differently? Something like "Hey all, just released my new song/video and it is inspired by my experience at Burning Man. It might be slightly different than what you are used to, but I wanted to experiment. What are your thoughts?" ...might yield some less aggressive responses (although probably not). Fucking trolls. Quote:David Block Ryan Rosenblum i totally agree with you. There's a way to self promote with humility and the pure joy of sharing your art with the world. Personally, making music the the most joyous experience I've had as a human being. It is the closest I've come to a space of "non-being", when you're lost in the creative process. Naturally, because humans want to connect with other humans, it feels good to want to SHARE this feeling with the world. Unfortunately, often the things we SAY and DO are not perceived the way they were intended. Either way, I'm really enjoying this dialogue and I have to say that I was having a really hard time reading people hating on Haley. Chris Brown you made my day. Love what you do, haters gonna hate Quote:Glenn Grillo that video is awesome makes me so want to go to Burningman RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project - mercfan3 - 07-31-2014 I know American Idol try to force everyone to find a lane, but I think musical longevity has shown that the opposite is true. Kelly Clarkson is still popular because she can keep herself relevant. She can sing different styles of music and therefore isn't trapped an unable to make modern music. She sings country, pop, and rock. Carrie Underwood, even though she's stayed mainly country..still shows her versatility in that she can sing pop and she can sing rock and you can hear those influences in her music. If it wasn't there, perhaps she would have faded in the country world with the male takeover. Haley is capable of singing literally any genre. That versatility is a good thing. She's dabbling into the electronic genre, she can sing R&B, pop, rock, Jazz, blues, funk..you name it..Haley can do it. That's an advantage she has. I think trying to force her into a box is a mistake. Let her grow and allow herself to be relevant. But I don't believe Haley has tried, or wants to sing opera, so there is one genre that's missing. And with that rasp of hers, I'm not sure her voice would be suited for it. Fortunately, I doubt that her fans are lamenting that lack (in her versatility) -- certainly not the group here. ![]() |
