It was good to speed read thru all the comments of Haley's turnaround support.
What week did Lauren cry when she was on the chopping block? I often wonder if that got her the sympathy votes from the young girls that pushed her ahead of Haley for the finale.

Judging from the turn in the comments, even though Moanin' wasn't a competitive song, her performance wowed a lot of people into her camp.

I never actively disliked Haley, but I was leaning toward Pia and James at the beginning. Pia continually bored me and James continually irritated me, and then Pia left. The next week results show was Moanin', I was hooked and that was it. I see exactly where that thought stream is coming from.

Right, should have read the comments more carefully. This was shot prior to Top 40 performance, not in Milwaukee.
Has Haley's Season 9 audition ever surfaced anywhere? Did she really get in front of Randy and the other judges, because typically from what I have heard, at these Idol auditions, people wait all day, then audition for about 30 seconds each in front of some producers, who then move them through to the next judges.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Simon was one of those that turned her away, and she said Randy was there, so ya, sounds like she got to go in front of the Judges S9
I didn't watch season 9, fully, but I've heard it said, Simon had already left the show, mentality, at that point, and in some cases appeared to purposely derail things on his way out of his last season. So Simon's opinion of Haley might have more to do w/ him not giving a dam, than it was his opinion of her viability as a contestant

I have never heard of the Television without Pity website, but thank you for posting this RMD. Even though it's been 3 years, I never tire of reading about Haley's rise. How some of the haters come around to be the ones defending her.

Yes, but it was early on. Perhaps some of you didn't get past the first page. By the second page, there was more interest, or, at the very least, ambivalently open than negative.
Somehow, you managed to miss that.
