RE: Next album will be blusier - kaypea - 03-01-2013 Quote:We still don't know the whole story about what happened with Interscope. But Haley does. And now, the choice is hers, not based on the Idol contract. She can make sure that she signs with a label that believes in her vision, commits to her for a few albums, promotes her, and gets her on tour with a strong band. As far as what happenned with Interscope don't forget that she was one of many acts that they dropped around that time.Haley said it was around 60 and if you checked their roster before and after that looked about right. Its true that record comanies are always dropping and adding arstists but 60 seems like alot even with a large company like Interscope and I think its much more related to what's happenned with the relatively recent downturn in the industry rather than to anything specifically related to Haley. It can be frustrating that she's not out performing more right now and sometines I find myself wanting to think that she might have learned a few things at this point and that maybe she herself should be pushing for that but there's so much we're not privy to and I have to believe that she's made a decision to take her time and concentrate on the recording right now. I totally agree on her performing with a band and not just one person backing her up.Hopefully the backing will be there for that. And I keep thinking tht SOMEONE out there has to want to give this girl a recording contract. As you say-hoping,hoping hoping. ![]() RE: Next album will be blusier - Outcast - 03-01-2013 I love blues even though it's a less commercial direction for her. That IS inspiring. As I was kind of saying before she's a beast in the studio. RE: Next album will be blusier - Himm2 - 03-01-2013 Where can I buy it???? I want it now!!!!..sight & sound unheard! I sure do believe in our girl!!!! RE: Next album will be blusier - Tom22 - 03-01-2013 I don't know if all of you have heard "Thanks for the Songs" , one of her unreleased gems that some-how ; ) I captured a while back and am eagerly awaiting where to send the money to. (I said three novenas and tipped an extra 5$ per song at stage-it for the privilege of listening early.) That song really sounds like a tribute to Stevie Wonder . I wonder if TV specials put out "requests for proposals" (a business term that is used for anumber of situations including with large commercial leases that would require extensive tenant improvements with desires that could be met numerous ways some of which a building owner might volunteer readily to do based on things not known to someone with interest in leasing a larger property in need of upgrades or something). The post/quotes/article in the thread here that gave some picture of how ESPN buys music to use in their productions mentioned Grace Potter being someone asked to submit a song for consideration for a new MLB theme for a channel. I wonder if any of the unpublished songs get submitted like that, or for TV show themes etc. Singing songs isn't the only form of artistry and I'm guessing that her ability to sing is knitted intricately in with how she creates music during the collaborative process of writing a song/melody. I'm saying that to counter the "what a waste of her potential not to be the one singing" LOL. Making money allows you to choose which doors to open and it has happed where a great TV song turns into a hit (as well as the more common other way around thing). Anyway.. how amazing would it be if that her "Thanks for the Songs" was sung by a celebrity cast to honor Stevie (kind of "We are the world" but for a birthday celebration ?) . OK. I dream big sometimes lol! Friday night. Don't know why but I couldn't stop laughing the first time I heard it! RE: Next album will be blusier - lovinghaleyr - 03-01-2013 TEN NEW SONGS? OMG she have a new complete album on H.E.R.hands.
