One poster in particular was especially abusive when he tried to convince me to post the album on the internet (I got my copy 5 days before it's release)....then the a$$whipe had the balls to PM me and ask me to send him the album because I know 'he's a big fan'......
Only 23 sold and she has 200 thousands followers who don't buy her album....
At least Haleyfans is representing...

I agree with all your comments and that 200k followers compared to 50k sales does bother me.
That being said, I don't think there has even been a press release yet. As someone said, its not on her site or RSS feed. Not everyone rushes out to buy tickets in advance either. If it doesn't sell out by the week before the event I'll be just as to'd as you.
As for the "out of touch thing" I really don't think the industry is handling things right at all.
They're doing no publicity on getting their story out to fans and spending tons on trying to lobby congress.
Their big solution seems to make penalties bigger and hold third parties responsible. They're lobbying to restrict our ability to communicate , and hold third parties liable so they'll keep us from using their sites to exchange information if we even might use it wrongly. That is self serving not only in IP revenues but in making it harder for people to use smaller sites to communicate without proving they're accountable from the get go.. a step to resticting competition.
In my opionion, what the record companies and artists need to do is not to jump to labeling people theives (even if that is opinion)
What they need to do is take pictures of the Dozens of people involved with a record along with their kids they support and show people where the share of the revenue goes.
"hey kids, all these people help your artist make that high qualtiy record or sing along with her. Their kids depend on their parents earning a living"
"You deserve to be paid for your work. Have the respect for these families and pay your share for other peoples work "
They're in the media business.. maybe they can make that point with less talking and more showing of people at work with hours it takes listed.
They need to counter the "everyone is doing it" not with a stick but with a call to people do the right thing in a way that a consumer will undertand.

It's still relatively unknown.Although true, so many things get tweeted out and spread very quickly nowadays and we know that many tweeters are lurkers here and IDF (from their tweets) so I'm just surprised at the slow sales.... especially when it's only 5 buck to sign up for it.

The reality is there are only a few dozen fans who seem to tweet about her or to her nearly every day.
Also, the site is not very intuitive.
It says "50 notes," not "50 notes ($5)."
And the box that pops up says, "Ticket Price: 50" at the top.
That could lead someone to think the ticket price is $50.
Haley has many foreign fans and this would be even more confusing for someone whose native language is not English. It is also often difficult for foreigners to complete online transactions due to restrictions by the payment processors.
Then there's the fact many of Haley's fans are younger and they may not have a credit card or have to get permission before making a purchase.

She also has a good number of older fans too.... I guess it's all conjecture.
Curious about what the thinking was in using notes instead of currency though...? Maybe as a universal Stageit currency so there is no issue in converting actual currency in the future if they start accepting money from other countries besides the dollar?

StageIt would prefer that you charge up your account with a sizable amount and then use the credits in the future to listen to a variety of artists. From their POV, this is advantageous because it reduces their transaction costs and gives them money they can use now. If they were to require everyone to send in a money order or check to top off their account the amount of participation would be too low for them to have a successful business. But the credit card companies aren't going to simply advance them money in your name. So they sell you something -- "notes."
I use a domain registrar that does something similar and they specify a minimum transaction amount of $100 when you refill your account.
