It seems to me that there is an underlying theme to almost all of Haley's songs that encourage action going forward.
Even break up songs like free and undone are different from "you gotta know" and "rolling in the deep" in that.
I'd think making a purchase is perceptual move forward.. if you're waffling on something and need a push .. a "lets go forward" idea could help I'd think.
Googling didn't lead me to the right inside industry white-papers on that. Retail is very scientific in their analysis of things like lighting, customer greeting, number of units to have on racks etc.
As we read in the brief article on ESPN there are specialists picking out songs that work toward the perception they want for a given show.
The long and short of it is, no matter what song Haley sings she seems to put a forward looking air to it (even to "rolling in the deep" and the sad "I who have nothing" felt like there was some dream of hope in finding what they were looking for and how beautiful that love would be when they weren't locked on the outside)
I love that attitude of Haley and of course it’s even more prevalent in the songs she wrote herself.
I think that's one of the reasons her songs will be easy to include in movies and shows and retailers... all which want a forward momentum of some sort or another. (without using an agry protest mode or a status quo rock out mode)

I heard Haley singing "Wonderland" at DSW shoes today! Actually my daughter heard it first and was singing the song while shopping!! Haley's popping up in lots of places these days!

One time I came into the car and heard "Wonderland" playing and I started going all crazy b/c I thought it was on the radio, but then I realized my mom was just playing the cd haha

I started looking in my purse for where the music was coming from and checking the cd player in my car... before I realized it REALLY WAS ON THE RADIO!! It was a OMG moment for me! Haha

I agree 100%. I have yet to hear a Haley song on the radio, and I've made many phone requests to various stations. Is it because of her idol background? Can't figure it out.

I heard Haley playing while shopping at Macy's yesterday! Gotta give kudos to whoever is setting up her music at all these stores. I'm getting so I almost expect to hear it now when I go shopping!!
