RE: Why Are We Here? - Haleylvr4evr - 02-20-2013 I found this site through twitter and signed up right away when I saw it was up-to-date and very active! It's so much better than some of the other forum/message board sites I've joined in the past.....no drama and fighting here! Haliens are the best!!! Thank you Miguel for creating a place for all of us to have fun posting pictures and talking about Haley!! If I can add 2 more: You Guys ![]() RE: Why Are We Here? - midnightblues - 02-20-2013 One taste will erase all your defenses.Never in a mill did I think I'd get caught up with a girl from a program I never watch.I to came from idoloonies. This is a good place to hang out. I have never seen The Hales, financies halt me from doing so at this time. BUt all the peeps that have seen her in person always bring back a little morsal. to feed my addiction. ![]() RE: Why Are We Here? - Himm2 - 02-20-2013 My Forum Jumping Timeline: 11/2010 - Idol discussions on my regular B2 Fans forum showed a contestant from Wheeling, IL made it to Hollywood. Many people there got on the "Haley has an attitude" bandwagon so I jumped ship to: 1/2011 - AmericanIdol.com "Haley Reinhart forum" it got nasty there so I jumped ship to: 4/2011 - iHeartReinhart & haleycentral.com which had a quickly dwindling membership without many active posters so I jumped ship to: 9/2011 - idolforums - Haley Reinhart where I was active after the live tour ended but on: 12/2011 - I joined Haleyfans.com because I saw the stuff Miguel was posting on IDF and wanted to know more. Wasn't dedicatedly loyal to Haleyfans.com until Lollapalooza last summer when Tusk made me realize that this was the ultimate long-lasting place to be without interferences from non-Haley fans eavesdropping from the megasite IDF. I'm living happily-ever-after here and I sure hope the Haley lovefest never ends!! RE: Why Are We Here? - kaypea - 02-20-2013 The mere fact that I'm even here says alot because if anyone had told me a couple of years ago that I'd still be avidly following a former Idol-any former Idol's career two years after they were on- I'd have told them that they're crazy.I've followed the show casually off and on over the years and I've had a few favorites-Melinda and Jordan among them but with Haley something else happenned and I had a definite desire to not only follow her career but to want to be able to hear more-and more from her.-I'm thinking back to turning on my computer at 1:00 in the morning to check out the latest Tightrope video coming in.-LOL. I see Haley as a kind of poster girl for those who want to see real originality and quality succeed in the music business and this is the best place to be for that. RE: Why Are We Here? - Tusk - 02-20-2013 (02-20-2013, 04:14 PM)Himm2 Wrote: My Forum Jumping Timeline:I had decided a few months earlier to do some 'recruiting' for HF, including linking to HF threads on IDF, and putting "haleyfans.com" on my videos from LA and Lolla. I'd known Miguel since the Idoloonies days but always resisted joining up because I go off what I'm 'inspired' to post, so if I was contributing to the Idoloonies comments section, doing what I could to keep the talk going, I wouldn't feel right posting the same thing on two sites. Unfortunately, as opinionated as I am and as much as I post, for whatever reason, I became the target of Trolls, that seemed to come more often. So I moved to IDF, which allowed you to post images and youtubes, which gave me a way to post Haley inspired artwork, doing what I could to help promote and help people enjoy being a Haley fan (album covers, sigs, calendars) For some reason the post is gone (possibly as a result of the "Post Armegeddon" that occurred during the FM era), but I joined around the time I got to hear Haley for the first time in Spokane, or when I discovered the link to pre-order LU was wrong, and I found the correct one (which I think is why I was able to receive LU 5 days before it's release, and had to deal with not being able to talk about it with anyone who didn't want 'spoilers') I joined HF to let them know about these things. Ultimately, my whole Haley ride started with unknowingly taking a step onto a trip I was unaware I signed up for. These last two years has been as a passenger, seeing where the ride will take me...everything that came, came at it's time. Started posting at the LA Times, then to Idoloonies then to IDF then here. So for me, I don't know that I was searching anything out, more that something was missing, and fate put Haley in front of me and where I was at the right place, at the right time, saying the right things. My superstitious side tries to convince me that it is somehow 'fated', my logical side tells me, my superstitious side is an idiot. ![]() Quote: I'm the thrill that you can't escape ![]() RE: Why Are We Here? - buzzenator - 02-20-2013 OMG...what a fine collection we are! ![]() Last night when I was officially HighOnHaley, combined with a gaggle of empty bottles nearby...whatever, I thought it would be fun to hear from all the legal and illegal Haliens out there. You are the best!! and the funniest!! ![]() RE: Why Are We Here? - Tom22 - 02-20-2013 1. I love Haley Reinhart! I love Haley’s MUSIC (both covers and originals) . Haley is a pleasant enough person and a good kid. It can be kind of endearing when she gets goofy but not enough to say her personality is part of my interest in her. I “loved” some of the girls I coached on my daughters team (especially one that put their fingers in their ears and screamed when they didn’t want to take my advice, and another girl who was a great player but just couldn’t help herself from grabbing a loose ball with her hands sometime (big penalty) . I loved John Belushi .. Haley doesn't get on that kind of list for me (yet?) . BUT I do love the part of her personality that she imbues her performances … I’m not sure if I see that swagger in the songs in her nice friendly persona when talking (although her sense of humor lets it escape sometimes!lol) 2. I love Haley Reinhart and would love to hear from others on the subject. 3. I love good music and Haley Reinhart embodies the whole concept of good music. BINGO - on the hearing from others on the subject And the whole concept of good music I want to UNDERSTAND WHY people like her . I’m on this mission to understand why I like some performers so much when other exquisite voices(say Beyonce?) just don’t move me. I guess that is a philosophical voyage of discovery I’m on. I have similar emotions to live grateful dead music, and some Dixieland and bluegrass music (but while those excite me they somehow tire me to in ways that the mix of blues and chords that Haley and the Dead use that allows me to listen to them non stop. . Discussions of the classic rock and other stuff here helped me close in a bitsy bit but I’m still perplexed in many ways I’m going to keep thinking and trying to look at notes and patterns on themes and rhythms that tie across things. I’ve looked into the grateful dead in the past years. There is a love or hate reaction with the grateful dead , even after people have listened to them long enough to put the hippy image aside. I know pleanty of people who are Rush Limbaugh types who hate liberals with a passion but still love the Deads concert tapes immensely. Some people just don’t see it at all, and I’m thinking it might be some weird personality based attraction to certain patterns or repeated and resolving themes (like a theme in a symphony) that triggers some dopamine response. So… I’m trying to see if there are any connections of particular things people like between groups within the Haley fan crowd. I read just too many times in too many places that people suddenly felt “ADDICTED” to “Bennie and the Jetts” … I really haven’t seen that comment made about other songs for years now watching all the idol and other sing show forums. 4. I love Miguel and Haley Reinhart. - props to Miguel … but for his hard work, not a cult of personality 5. I hate Randy Jackson. - he baffles me in a negative way.. but I go to Slezak for profound Snarking on Randy, not here 6. I'm not sure what I love, but I could be influenced. - forums in general are interesting ways to hear people from different world experiences bring up topics I’m not familiar with or takes on events that might be different from my circle. I’m always active in one internet forum or another from a joy of that kind of contact 7. I post therefore I am. I can get compulsive about posting on subjects I’m interested in - 14 to 10 years ago it was investment and stock trading forums . Been game forums and news and politic forums I’ve got obsessive about now and then 8. What's the question? - guess that’s the place for “OTHER” I’m also intrigued about the Music Business . I like to learn new things. I’m not a lawyer but I read the full length Justices opinions some times. I read an odd science academic journal article sometimes and many less intense but equally obscure article. I read a lot of economic white papers… understanding economics is like understanding why people like particular music.. Probably impossible to pin down but situation-ally understandable. Tracking Haley’s career is a great window into entertainment business concepts (although I’d like much more). People here post every little thing about haley so its an interesting chance to try to understand a business I know nothing about (for the pursuit of knowledge as an end in itself). Tied into the business issues are some very interesting developments of things like “intellectual” property and international legal jurisdiction issues and differences. So, tracking one performer helps keep me tied to an angle on that broader interest of mine 9. It's my lucky number and Haley's too. _- I never want to miss one of Haley’s “numbers” . All her performances, are referred and linked to here (even if fleetingly) so … checking in regularly makes sure I get a new twist on my favorite fix ! |
