RE: "Better" - john - 09-06-2013 A1A is a coastal hwy in Florida. I have no doubt that Haley says "A1A" as she sings of going out on the road. RE: "Better" - midnightblues - 09-06-2013 Is she going East or West? Where u going Hales ![]() RE: "Better" - Tom22 - 09-06-2013 (09-06-2013, 07:54 PM)midnightblues Wrote: Makes sense that she would be heading back to the 818 or the L.A area dunno mon just saying. A1A isn't the coast hwy, that would be HWY 1 or PCH . I do hope not Hales The 818 is the not so cool area. I generally agree although Burbank (where a couple of studios and CityWalk is, is in the 818. There is a popular area where screen writers have been buying homes (that is probably drastically overpriced by now, with people jumping on the bandwagon) called eaglerock .. but that is 323 even though it is next to Burbank. Laurel Canyon certainly has some pretty hip spots (wasn't there a movie by the name about the recording industry) and some of that is in the 818 too (although I think the less "hip" side of it) I do think I heard she lived in Santa Monica which is the 310 but she'd likely go to Burbank now and then including the CityWalk gig and.. well it rhymed ; ) . I'm a 310 boy and most of my family is there... Sister in Venice which is sort of a hip address. (09-06-2013, 08:01 PM)john Wrote: A1A is a coastal hwy in Florida. Also.. saying that the 818 (in LA) is "somewhere you can breath" would be a sick joke ... perhaps a insider joke.. but .. still.. absolutely not what the 818 is know for ! RE: "Better" - LucyInTheSky - 09-06-2013 Lol, I think "back to the place where I can breathe" was more metaphorical than literal. I think it's 818. I've heard it used in plenty of songs, and it makes a lot more sense than a random highway in Florida. ![]() RE: "Better" - john - 09-06-2013 (09-06-2013, 08:04 PM)midnightblues Wrote: Is she going East or West? Where u going Hales:D Actually it's a North-South road :D Who knows, that lyric might have come from one of her co-writers (she is credited as the 3rd writer). RE: "Better" - midnightblues - 09-06-2013 818 is full of smog and second hand smoke from all the crack pipes no clean air ?WTF RE: "Better" - Miguel - 09-06-2013 (09-06-2013, 07:52 PM)Tom22 Wrote: That might be the same recording on the video but it has been mixed differently since then if it is. Comment elsewhere from 2011 about SoundCloud: Quote:You can remix, convert the files to .MP3 yourself and have everything sounding excellent - but Soundlcoud has its own unique way of f*(1ng up your tracks and it is pretty much unavoidable. Even Youtube sounds better than Soundcloud. RE: "Better" - Tusk - 09-06-2013 ^^^ That might be why I chose THF's WIAWSNB audio over the one you posted on Soundcloud. it didn't sound as good as what I got for Better and Cake which I got directly from your memory. I didn't think to dl the others either ![]() I got audio up to Patti singing Baracuda then it cuts off, so I never got WIAWSNB RE: "Better" - Miguel - 09-06-2013 WIAWSNB is a 24.9 MB wave file. I just sent it to myself so I could listen to it on my other laptop that has external speakers. It's pretty good. Where the bass sounds thickest early on it seems a little muddy to me. Later in the song when the music is driving the instruments are pretty clear, but Haley seems fainter. That might not be as noticeable if paired to the video. Do you want me to send it to you? Via email (@ix...)? In regards to the recordings I made, I didn't use a windscreen I had. They might have been even clearer if I did. But I have been thinking the fact that I raised the mic over my head several feet may have mitigated the crowd noise some. One more thing, for anyone considering purchasing a similar recorder, I moved to the center so I would be better positioned to record video. Turns out that was the ideal place to record audio given the microphone setup (2 side mics and 1 in the middle). RE: "Better" - Tusk - 09-06-2013 If I get it, I could pair it with THF's video so that could be cool. |
