Indeed. I'm not at all a fan of parades -- have marched in far too many (and I despise marching bands), but at least there were always crowds to cheer and make the effort seem worthwhile. But this just hurts. I ache for Haley (and, perhaps, she didn't care) and I hurt for the organizers. It is sad.

I think parades are mostly for the kids. And most parents aren't going to take their kids out in such cold weather.

Depends on the parade -- the Tournament of Roses is not for kids, although those old enough to handle such a lengthy parade do attend.

From the videos that Himm provided, it seemed as though parts of this parade was in a residential area. Perhaps, at the point that he was there, with his camera, said residents had taken a break to run into their homes and warm up...perhaps.

Himm said the crowd was on his side of the street, because of sun glare, Harry was disappointed they never put a sign saying it was Haley, and she was way up there, so noone could tell it was her, with her all bundled up Tongue

As a nice ending to a long wonderful weekend after dropping off Tusk at O'hare, I made it a few blocks east to the Car Show and had three nice Chats with Haley, Harry, Patti and smiles with Angie. Haley gave me the best heart-filled autograph she's ever done on my 7th Autographed CD:

I told Harry that Tusk was on Cloud Nine last night at PS Pub and now he's on Cloud Nine on his way flying back to Seattle. This Mini Halien Shindig Weekend was filled with joyous memories!
