Don't know about the deal part but it does appear the Irwin adores Haley. Smile I have always been impressed that Haley could walk into his club, sing a song and scat with Irvin, then get invited to sing with his band at Carnegie Hall. I doubt he had any clue about her when she sang at his club and it became a successful unintended and uninvited audition for Haley. Validating to the max.

^^It definitely is a very cool thing to be able to perform with a big jazz orchestra, and not just once (Carnegie Hall), or twice (Chicago Theater), but it seems to be an ongoing relationship. Im not sure about the deal thing either, but when I heard about this LA function, I thought, well maybe there is something. Either way, great way to add to a resume. Smile

This is fantastic. The fact that IM wants to feature Haley at his shows whenever possible displays his admiration for her musical talent. Haley is such a great singer because she's a musician. Her voice is her instrument. Same as Ella and the other jazz greats.There are a lot of good singers around. They may have power, big range, good tone and all that. But, they don't sing like a musician. There is a difference to me.

Casey is like that too in a way, He doesn't have the great tone like Haley and doesn't have the same control or fluidity. But, he still uses his voice like an instrument. The best thing about his singing for me is his rhythm and phrasing and incredible ear.

To be clear, I posted the Friday event as confirmation Mayfield was in LA. That was before PJ found the main event being held on Thursday. There is no guarantee Haley will be at the Friday show.

But should you want to take a chance, it's on Friday morning.
