Haley comes across like one of those singers who uses every trick she’s got on every song she sings, without ever stopping to understand that greatness isn’t a point system tallying the number of runs, growls, and high notes you deliver, but rather, it’s about the emotional connection you forge with both song and audience. Plus, a little respect for the melody never hurt.He talks about her "God Bless the Child" in episode 3 of this week, calls her a "Trainwreck" ![]() http://tvline.com/2011/03/03/american-idol-recap-season-10-top-12-women-semifinals/ His opinion of Haley starts turning this week with "I'm Your Baby, Tonight" and the Red Lipstick 'Disaster' http://tvline.com/2011/03/23/idol-leaderboard-vote-to-rank-the-top-11/ The video reviews begin Hollywood week http://tvline.com/2011/02/24/american-idol-recap-season-10-beatles-green-mile/ RE: Happy for Haley - alpha7388 - 12-30-2012 "For those Haliens who came 'late' to the Haley Train," That is all true history and well told, but if you missed the Haley Train, that is not a full representation of Slezak and his reviews. He admits he was slow recognizing Haley, but by the end of the season he adored her and became perhaps her most staunch fan during the competition, writing and producing video commentary of each episode explaining why Haley is so fantastic in cutting detail. All this DURING season 10 and before some of the epic performances that were to come. Many of us watch over and over again the multi-part interview with Haley after the season where he recounts her incredible AI journey complete with performances, judging injustices, righteous opinions and Haley's insights regarding the going's on at the show. It really is a masterpiece and if I ever met him I would buy him a beer. He said everything I would want to say, and seeing it said directly to Haley herself, and hear her laugh and see her delight, was an incredible thing. RE: Happy for Haley - Swansteel - 12-30-2012 I loved the TVLine videos and looked forward to them every week. I missed the early ones when Michael didn't like Haley and came in during his adoration period. He was able to perfectly sum up my own feelings about her run on Idol. I absolutely LOVED the muti-part interview he did with her after her run on the show. It was epic! RE: Happy for Haley - midnightblues - 12-30-2012 Take the last train to Hales vill I'm on the midnight train RE: Happy for Haley - buzzenator - 12-30-2012 ^ It probably still holds the record for most comments ever, over 3600, on a TVline story...everything was beautiful until James showed up. I hope he's in posting hell... ![]() RE: Happy for Haley - My Alter Ego - 12-30-2012 (12-30-2012, 12:31 AM)alpha7388 Wrote: "For those Haliens who came 'late' to the Haley Train," Alpha 7388 -- well said. However, I'm not sure Michael's a beer guy, so if you are so lucky as to meet Mr. Slezak, I'd suggest you buy him a glass of sauvignon blanc, which seems to be his wine of choice these days. ![]() RE: Happy for Haley - john - 12-30-2012 (12-30-2012, 12:31 AM)alpha7388 Wrote: That is all true history and well told, but if you missed the Haley Train, that is not a full representation of Slezak and his reviews. So the simple fact that 3 of us believe that Slezak's still using using Haley as his wallpaper on his Twitter page says something means -- well (that 3 people think that it means something) -- mainly that 3 people have commented. While my form of research (qualitative as opposed to quantitative) means that we don't just rely on numbers, it does require answers to more open ended questions. |
