RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - Shela - 05-07-2012 Being a kid from the 70´s Disco age and even if, at some point, I tried to put that pass behind me...I´m loving What you don´t know...It brings old good fun memories. It also seems She goes for the growls in that one. RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - midnightblues - 05-07-2012 Disco don't you just love the smell of potpourri and polyester. From what I've heard of all her songs there is definitely a lot of retro Motown. A lot of the songs have to do with relationships that have somehow dissolved. I hope all these aren't out of Haley's own experience. That would be sad to hear that a woman of her caliber had so many relationships that went bad. UNdone she's talking about she doesn't want him back but she wants what he took from her, those are some powerful lyrics. There was disco destined to be forgotten and disco destined to become classic. This song captures the good elements. It's going to sound real fresh to kids her age. My hearing is poor so I will only be able to fully appreciate these songs after I read the lyrics (the words become clear once I know what they are). In about my fourth time going through the tracks "Keep Coming Back" stood out. RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - Mr. Bill - 05-07-2012 Oh My! I LOVE what I'm hearing in these snippets. There's a great range but a lot of it is catchy as hell. Oh My! definitely has crossover potential. It's very original and interesting sounding. I would be shocked if this album doesn't make waves as the most original debut by an Idol artist yet. LOVE IT! RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - midnightblues - 05-07-2012 UNdone is a realy very sad song. Where does love go when it's gone. Where do hearts go when they've been wronged undone undone undone suddenly someone is no one. I don't know that's the way I interpreted it the same old cliché love hurts when it's over. RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - Tusk - 05-08-2012 "Oh My" sounds better with more listenings...I wasn't too sure after the first go through, but second and third time I liked it better and better. (Go Figure...A Haley song sounding better and better after multiple listenings? ![]() I'm also searching for what makes "Spiderweb" a rock song, it's one of the weaker songs of the snippets IMO. NTYH is my vote for next single, I love it more with the studio, although it's her best live performance song, as well IMO. "Wonderland" didn't add anything to what we've heard but WT and HTGR are much better in their studios IMO. RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - alpha7388 - 05-08-2012 I think it is an overall very strong album. When I listen, I hear the "Haley things" that I like to hear. It is very much her own. Musically a success IMO; no telling what the masses taste is like as we have all learned. The reggae tune is great, and I like them all. Hard for me to say which is a favorite which says its a strong compilation. Way to go Haley and thank you from your fans. Hope there is commercial success and grammys attached! Hey, signed CDs apparently still available - - - on EBAY, bidding starting at $99.95! RE: "Listen Up!" song previews now on iTunes! - john - 05-08-2012 What a nice, unexpected treat. Haley did good. The album is really solid -- not one clunker. I think there are several cuts that could be released as the next single and I agree that NTYH would be a good choice. While maybe not a summer song, I think Undone is a really good tune. Oh My is cool -- a song that can grow on you. I love the crazy sax, although the B.o.B. rap seems weak to me. I love her voice on Liar. Although Spider Web does not jibe with my expectations I really like the bonus songs. There really is no place for the "regular" album -- it's not the kind of thing that any true Haley fan would purchase. Undone really sticks out to me. Overall, I believe it is a very worthy debut effort and can't wait to receive my copy. |
