RE: Classic rock - Babbs234 - 02-18-2013 Leon Russell is a classic...such character(is that the word?) in his voice! RE: Classic rock - midnightblues - 02-20-2013 ...........LA woman ![]() ![]() RE: Classic rock - Ronzoni - 02-26-2013 I've always regarded Burton Cummings (lead singer of The Guess Who) as having one of the greatest voices in rock & roll. Take a listen to some of the following songs taken from Youtube. This guy has perfect pitch, is one hell of a piano player, extremely talented singer/songwriter, plays multiple instruments and is a great impersonator. The Guess Who produced some fantastic songs in their 40+ year span....Cummings & Bachman were the Lennon/McCartney of Canada. Here's a sample of some of my favorites from Burton and some with The Guess Who: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIGKpZwRvq4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVC2hZftRt4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itf474omB3I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whq-TYsR1aA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxa1jggv1RI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjqX61QpXV0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Auxq-phs8m8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-SATlz4mYc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16bk8BoLZ4g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUv6GGY5S80 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3cpikaCCsQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB4e8EXb6ns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cg8e_9tVFMk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB3zSRQXRS0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMjALGkap74 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XowQB_l-w3k And he did a fantastic Elvis impersonation way back in the day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp39C3mn9Is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSj5kQJeC4k Also check out his facebook page...you can get lost for weeks in his stories & poetry (writings from B.L. Cummings) https://www.facebook.com/officialburtoncummings RE: Classic rock - midnightblues - 02-28-2013 almost as sad as Undone RE: Classic rock - Babbs234 - 03-05-2013 How about some Tina Turner? I just got finished watching part of her 1996 concert from Amsterdam. What a performer!! and at 56 years old too! Wikipedia calls her "the most successful female rock artist" known for her energetic stage presence and powerful vocals. I don't know if this qualifies as "classic rock" but man this lady has energy!! Then I turn on American Idol and Zonette is singing Tina's "What's Love Got to do With it". ![]() RE: Classic rock - midnightblues - 03-05-2013 She's got the legs ![]() RE: Classic rock - My Alter Ego - 03-06-2013 (03-05-2013, 08:04 PM)Babbs234 Wrote: How about some Tina Turner?
