RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - drusome - 04-11-2015 Well this is my first post here though I have to admit to some serious lurking in the shadows as I have to keep up to date with all things Haley .. once halienated always a Halien. Anyway this Creep cover has motivated me to post. I was somewhat active on Idol Forums and youtube back in the day but kinda fell silent as time went by. I have enjoyed everything that Haley has done since Idol but in retrospect there was this nagging doubt: what if I I hadn't experienced Haley on AI..would I be listening to Free or Listen Up with enthusiasm or would it have passed me by? Was Haley's brilliance on Idol a one off thing, a product of that moment in time? Creep has completely answered that question. I am 100% certain that if I had never heard of AI or had been completely absent for season 10 I would be completely transported by this. It is simply an awe inspiring totally captivating performance. It communicates in a very relatable way. I have always liked the song but never really related to it. So how come? Haley is uncreepiness personified yet its very convincing. I guess we all have that creepy potential and given the right (or wrong) circumstances anybody could become that. Also the one thing a total creep would be unable to do is admit it or even be aware of it. On the other hand a person could have a really rather mild creepy episode and then labour for years with feelings of guilt and self loathing. Also there is something of a redemptive quality to it as in "I am an alcholic" in that a declaration can open the door to hope and resolution. Anyways I just love it when a performance is both mind blowing and thought provoking at the same time. I suppose I could be said to be something of a fair weather fan - so many thanks to those that have kept the home fires burning here and elsewhere during the quieter times. RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Tusk - 04-11-2015 Boy were there long stretches of 'dry times'..... ![]() I've seen quiet a few familiar names start popping up now they feel there's something to talk about.... I think the train's going to start filling up ![]() Welcome aboard RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Miguel - 04-11-2015 (04-11-2015, 11:34 PM)drusome Wrote: I am 100% certain that if I had never heard of AI or had been completely absent for season 10 I would be completely transported by this. I too am certain the performance would have captivated me if I wasn't familiar with Haley. In fact, I wondered to myself earlier today what it must be like to hear "Creep" performed by Haley when you know nothing of her. We at least had some idea of what she can do. I've had my CreepO2 compared to this performance from American Idol, a 'post Idol' House of the Rising Sun type performance, when she stamped a permanent mark on her Season. Breathing her essence into an old song, Haley finally stepping out from behind the curtain and on full display in all her vocal glory It was when alot of people took notice of Haley, she was no longer an afterthought RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - riley - 04-12-2015 Thanks for posting that video, I have watched it a lot but not in a while. I love Patti's reaction at the end - Harry's too. Being musicians they knew she nailed it in an extraordinary way. ![]() RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Kevin - 04-12-2015 (04-11-2015, 04:39 PM)Tusk Wrote:(04-10-2015, 04:28 PM)Miguel Wrote: The most Haley-friendly radio station in the country tweeted: Killeen, TX home to Ft. Welcome to the party Drusome RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Jastal - 04-12-2015 Can I say how happy I am that Haley DIDN'T sing Creep on AI as she wanted to? Not only would this have labelled it a Haley "AI" song, it is likely we never would have heard this exquisite full length version with the unforgettable climax. Also, will we ever hear this version of Creep on the Radio? I think it would appeal to Pop and Alternative listeners (IMO...maybe even more then Jazz) but I guess will mean stations will need to take a chance on something a bit new. Welcome Drusome...with all the excellent commentary, I don't post much, but I really enjoy this site!! RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Miguel - 04-12-2015 A small Harlem-based label that just won a Grammy for "Best Latin Jazz Album" reached out to Haley on Twitter. It likely would have been different without Scott's input too. CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE YOU GUYS IN REAL RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Tusk - 04-12-2015 LA PLUS BELLE REPRISE DE CREEP DE RADIOHEAD
(A beautiful cover of Raidohead's Creep) HOLY CATS, now that's a web page header ![]() Google translate (with a couple adjustments): Quote:YouTube allows many amateur musicians to showcase and demonstrate their talent. We talked about it here . Successfully capture a song to deliver uniquely is an art in itself. Few occasions are truly transcendent . The bar even higher to achieve when the original song is a gem.
