RE: Haley's in the studio. - midnightblues - 01-30-2012 We will soon find out. March the 1st isn't that far off, for her single, than the album. There will be much to talk about. RE: Haley's in the studio. - john - 01-30-2012 I love the idea of her dad playing on the album. It's such a Haley thing to do, and it is another indication that this album is hers, as she wants it to be. It's a way to acknowledge the role of her parents in shaping her musically, and it gives her a chance to show off the talents of her father. I can't imagine that it won't be really well done. RE: Haley's in the studio. - fover - 01-30-2012 I predict we will begin hearing rumors around the 8th. Possibly a teaser or two, and leaks to some of the more connected media outlets. RE: Haley's in the studio. - Miguel - 01-30-2012 YT comment made by a girl whose grandparents live near Haley's parents. Quote:I talked to her 2 days ago, she said her album will be a lot like Adele's RE: Haley's in the studio. - midnightblues - 01-30-2012 I just got finished listening to a song by song done by Dan Folgelburg called leader of the band. It reminded me so much of this topic Harry playing guitar on Haley's new album. There is a verse in that song that says I'm just a living legacy to the leader of the band. Haley has a lot to be thankful for she's been blessed with a beautiful voice personality and looks and a great heart. Most of all she has been blessed with parents that groomed her from her early age and taught her the ropes the ins and outs of music. That's a wonderful thing to be able to enjoy the heritage of your parents. I remember reading that when Patty was pregnant with Haley she would sing to her, and when she was up on stage she could feel Haley kicking in her womb to the be the base. It looks like Haleys Destiny was prearranged. So to have her mom and dad singing on the album and playing guitar would be Haley's way of saying thanks mom thanks dad for all that you have instilled in me. I think she said that once an interview I'm not sure where was. That she owed everything to her mom and dad. If Haley's album is anywhere near as successful as Adele's, then AI needs to get rid of that biased moron Randy Jackson and replace him with someone like will.i.am. Thanks! RE: Haley's in the studio. - Miguel - 01-30-2012 (01-30-2012, 08:13 PM)abc890 Wrote: What youtube video is that comment on? Thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov-KkwSA5gA The girl's been around for awhile. A couple of months ago she said she was a fan of Haley's and then learned her grandparents lived near Haley, and that they had actually sung Karaoke together when they were younger. In another comment tonight, she said she lives five doors down from Haley's parents. I don't think that would be true unless she lives with her grandparents. She gives her age as 16. A comment she made three weeks ago: Quote:I love haley, i remember playing with her in her back yard, (she lived next to my grandpa) ahah and i remember her ALWAYS singing and it was soo fun i always loved when she says "you're crazy" hahaha she's soo funny!!!(: Not sure if it all adds up, but if she's five years younger than Haley, she might not have seen much of Haley after that point. I know once I turned 16 and could drive, I quit hanging out with the younger kids in my immediate neighborhood and began spending time with classmates my own age in other places. You brought up Dan Fogelberg...a 70s & 80s artist at his peak with four double platinum albums, Souvenirs, Nether Lands, Phoenix & The Innocent Age along with one triple platinum album his Greatest Hits and who passed away in 2007 at the age of 56. Part of his Bio: It's one of his earliest memories: He's four years old, standing up on a box in front of his father's big band, baton in hand, conducting. Though his dad stood behind him, doing the real work, for Dan it was a foreshadowing of what his life would be -- following in his father's footsteps to become the leader of the band. "It was an amazing feeling," he declared decades later during a series of discussions for these notes. "To be immersed in music. It felt both very magical and powerful. And I was fearless." That fearlessness has led him far, as he developed into one of popular music's most gifted and successful singer-songwriters. With an early genius for both melody and harmony, a soulfully angelic singing voice, and a natural gift for romantic expression, Dan Fogelberg has created songs that have become so embedded in our collective consciousness that they still resound with authentic magic and beauty years after they first emerged. Interesting that you mentioned Fogelberg since Haley has a similar background...born and raised in Illinois, starting at a very young age in the shadow of musical parents, immersed in music, covered Beatles songs with their first bands, fearless, singer-songwriter, studied theater and arts, gifted in melody and harmony, soulful angelic singing voice, authentic magic and beauty. Here is 'Longer' one of his greatest hits and was sung at countless weddings for years: RE: Haley's in the studio. - midnightblues - 01-30-2012 That song gets me all choked up..(sniff sniff sniff) brings back lots of memories. A little bit of Cat stevens and Jackson Brown. man o man So many good songwriters see if you recognize this one. (I can see her looking fast in her faded jeans she's a hard loveing woman got me feeling mean.) Gordon Lightfoot. I just wonder if Haley was influenced by any of these guys I'm sure Harry was because that was in his time you just don't hear material written like that anymore. Sung and written with meaning. I wish Haley could've hung out some of these dudes. Their material impacted and stayed with you for a long time because ya could relate to to the songs, and when a songwriter has an influence like that , it gets into you. Good medicine for the weary and downtrodden soul.Hell yes |
