There are a few in Wheeling, not to bad of prices But there in the north suburbs. Dunno how far they are from the party.

Surprised your airfare is $488. Are there not many competing airlines where you're at? I don't live in, or close enough to, a hub city. There are 4 main airlines here.
Yeah, it does seem the FairBridge Hotel isn't taking online reservations. I tried a few random dates and got nothing on the usual booking sites. On the FairBridgeInns website it show the hotel as offline. Strange. Also, TripAdvisor reviews late last year make it sound like the hotel was having issues (there are no reviews for this year).

Looking at a map it appears Wheeling is just about 10 miles north of O'Hare airport. Does this seem correct to you, Himm? I also saw a hotel in Wheeling called the Hawthorn Suites that seems reasonable. Do you know of this one, Himm? Am I bugging you yet, Himm?

It would be good if we could maybe try to all stay at the same place - I'll go with what ever everyone else decides. Considering I won't be sharing my room, good value works well for me!!

^That would be cool if we all stayed at the same place. I suppose if we did that, though, we would have to get on reservations early, wouldn't you think?
(See, now I have the bug under my skin.)

I get the same way. If I'm not too busy at work tomorrow I'll call around to a few places and get prices and availability.

All the motels I mentioned are either in Wheeling or an adjoining village. The main event is in Buffalo Grove which is about a mile and a half from my house in Wheeling.
It does look like the Fairbridge is out of business so the Super 8 in Prospect Heights (5 minutes away) is the next best choice if you're looking for inexpensive. If you can afford it the Westin is the closest to all the action with 3 good restaurants onsite.

Yes I should have mentioned Hawthorn Suites. My sisters stayed there while visiting for Christmas. It is a suite with separate bedroom, kitchen, living area (with hide-a-bed) and I think they paid about $90 a nite but I see some $78 figures also. They allow pets too. Ohare airport is just a short drive/cab-ride up the tri-state tollway to Lake Cook Road (usually 20 minutes).

Yes, the Super 8 looks pretty good, and it is cheaper than the Hawthorn. It also appears there are quite a few rooms available as of now.
