The comments are harsh, but I think the trailer is a rather narrow view of the show because it mainly focuses on Burr's character speaking and portraying how politically incorrect the 1970s were. It's the stories/plots of each episode that will determine its overall likability.

Burr provides the voice of the family’s extreme patriarch Frank Murphy, whose dialogue and thought process focuse on, in particularly, his views on the “absurdity of political correctness”. His wife Sue, voiced by Laura Dern, often has a problem the with unfiltered comments Frank makes involving gender roles. In one episode, Sue takes issue when Frank refers to her job as “her little hobby” and defends her daughter when he tells her that “girl astronauts” are just as mythical as vampires. As you could probably guess, Frank’s parenting tactics in raising his children including his oldest son Kevin (Justin Long) and his youngest son Bill (Haley Reinhart) are also questionable.

Like Burr’s stand-up routines, F is for Family is raunchier than it is heart-warming, just as the middle-finger-giving and profanity-spitting seen in the two-minute-long trailer suggests. Burr and the rest of the cast and crew clearly take advantage of the leeway Netflix provides for programs that containing vulgar language and obscene content, as they are know that the original script of F is for Family will remain uncensored, unlike it would on cable television. The show adult-oriented but if you have a teenager at home and are on the fence about whether or not the show is too inappropriate, you can view the IMDb Parents Guide, which provides parents with detailed information on what actually makes the show adult-oriented and also lists recurring instances of inappropriateness that may cause some parents concern…The Parents Guide for F is for Family for example, the recurring instances of sex and nudity, violence and gore, profanity, alcohol/ drugs/ smoking and frightening and intense scenes.

In a statement provided by Netflix, Burr describes his excitement and eagerness for F is for Family to air next month and to work with the rest of the hilarious cast. “F is for Family is the show I’ve always wanted to do. It captures all the characters of my childhood the way I remember it to be. Fortunately Mike Price and everyone at Wild West seem to know the same people I knew growing up. It’s going to be a lot of fun to tell these stories.” Burr is not the only one who is excited about the series premiere. For instance, Katie O’Connell, CEO of Gaumont International Television asserts that “Bill Burr’s voice in capturing the moment to moment comedy in our daily lives is infectious and relatable “We’re thrilled to bring his hilariously edgy style of comedy to ‘F Is for Family’ with our partners at Wild West Television.”
