Man, I'm really digging Haley/Casey's version of Time of the Season. Just can't stop listening to it. Took a long (for me) bike ride this morning, and listened to the record twice, but played TOTS on repeat at the end. When I got home I started digging up various YT versions of The Zombies. I'm thinking that this could be a KILLER song on the tour. There's so much they could do with it in a live concert.

I think Haley adding Dylan to her touring band was necessitated by needing another voice to perform What's That Sound on Tour.... Time of the Season being one of those songs that Dylan will probably be used in... although I expect Casey might perform the song when Haley's stop at the El Rey comes around

So you think he's replacing John N, or being added as a 2nd guitarist? Can Dylan play electric guitar? The more background vocalist the better IMO.

It could be that John has already signed on to work w/ someone else. Like many musicians who have played w/ Haley, they have to continue to find work and that means scheduling gigs in advance...
I really don't see a need for two guitarists to take on tour... they're not doing this for free. Maybe Haley wants two guitarists, but economically, it doesn't make sense......
Despite his low key demeanor, IMO Dylan is actually a pretty skilled guitarist, above average at the very least....I enjoy the little flourishes he weaves into his playing...
Also, I think WTS vibe tends towards more an acoustic guitar if Haley wants to change it up from what she had previously done on tour. personally I'd love if they replicated what they did in LA when performing "Let's Start" , just Haley and Dylan's guitar...
My first time seeing Dylan playing for Haley at Room 5, I went to tell him I didn't expect how good he is on guitar and to give him props (figuring everyone was in line to talk to Haley, I had to wait anyway)... Dylan thanked me, but instead of talking about himself, he shifted the conversation to Haley and how much he appreciated my support of Haley and how much he enjoys playing w/ Haley..... He has always been a very humble person as far as I can tell.
I know Dylan probably has aspirations as a Headlining solo artist, but until then, he is above average skills in many respects as a musician which means he will always be a working musician until his break comes along.... IMO a solid addition to Haley's band.

My favorite right now is "Can't find my way home", love that one greatly. Also some of the ones we got to know early keep their own very well in the whole I think. The ending to "Oh! Darling" is fantastic, this one lives off of Haley's voice. "Somewhere in between" is nice, should find a good spot somewhere. "Time of the Season" is good, too. "Bring the Love Back Home" - good one, love the musical quirks going on throughout. ... Some of the others, while excellent listens each in their own right, don't take me to quite the same places (some might have interesting live versions down the road I think). Having said that, as with the other albums I expect personal favorites to vary a lot between Haliens! All just early reactions, this is going to evolve!
Next to the purity of Haley's voice and the excellent, meticulous nature of this production, which has a fullness, determination and at the same time softness (the analog recording?) that is no way too much at all, it just shines, it strikes me how little this record is on the path of young mainstream music of today - it is on a different branch.
Sorry for "no Target" here in Europe ... hope the extra songs will find their way over the pond somehow!
I can't believe how lucky we are to now have 3 full Haley albums in just a small number of years, what more can one ask for! Each is unique, each a great piece of musical vision and work; together they are something that adds up to a lot. So I am just thankful.

Hey...you know I am not here that often anymore. But that does not mean I have lost my enthusiasm as a Halien. Many thanks to Miguel and everyone for your commitment to Haley and this site.
I'm a little behind on this "What's That Sound" album...but the bottom line: Haley is so incredible that I will never second guess the direction she wants to go. Her voice...it's undeniable! Scott Bradlee, who has a much better ear than the Buzz, stated it is as a voice that comes along "once in a generation"!
I just keep enjoying the journey! What a gift! It's the gift that keeps on giving! The Slayer...long live The Queen!

WTS has exceeded my expectations! My standouts after several days....influenced by my personal preference for new music with the exception of Haley-covers.
1. Time of the Season - colloboration w/Casey is amazing - maybe their best - intimate, fresh and original. Crazy instrumentals!
2. Sunny Afternoon - the Scott Bradlee spin makes this so special. A video with him would make a perfect addition to the PMJ collection & show. The last 20 seconds are especially great.
3. Somewhere In Between - Initially thought it was Bond-cover. Love the original lyrics and vibe.
4. Can't Find My Way Home - the song never feels old - always loved Haley's version and greatful she recorded it.
Other thoughts, impressions...
- Wish there was more scatting - hope her next Album is Jazz-focused
- Let's Start - cute original song/video - a bit too Poppy for my taste
- Bring the Love Back Home - IMO the only dud
- Haley achieved her goal to honor her parents and their music (A+)
- Time will tell if WTS gets her closer to mainstream media - since her AI year, the national talk shows (Ellen, Fallon) and music festivals have not been there. Maybe commercials are her best chance ala CHFIL?
