I woke up this morning thinking about this quote. The breakup with Interscope likely came to pass before it was reported. So it would be odd if this was addressed to Haley now.
Keep in mind Dina is a recovering alcoholic and sometimes tweets things that are meant as encouragement to herself.

With this in mind, perhaps the tweet was not addressed specifically to Haley but rather words of encouragement to her fans.

Maybe folks saw this article earlier this year, but the New Yorker put out a great article about how a top pop song is really created.
New Yorker Article "The Song Machine"
The article notes that most of today's hits are driven by a limited number of top producers who create the beats, chords, and instrumental sound and "top line" writers who develop the melodies, lyrics and all important hooks. These writers are typically singers who can "demo" the song in the voice of a particular favorite singer, and then the demos are shared with the top talents in the industry. (They noted that Beyonce "Halo" and Kelly Clarkson "Already Gone" were created from the same original track--although both became hits and no one really noticed or cared.)
Anyway--just some insight into how really, really tough it is for a new artist like Haley to break into the top echelons and have a huge hit. Sounds like it is a rigged game in many ways, but hopefully, Haley will break through with a new label with her own music. But since she has skills as a songwriter too, that is another avenue to success--per the article, a number one single can make the writer a millionaire. Keep up the song writing Haley!

I spent quite a lot of time researching the industry an pay methods last week and while it was too complicated for me to be able to describe with any confidence my take away was that if you wanted to get paid for your creations you really really wanted to be a song writer.
Outside of that it seems to be feast or famine with only the super super stars able to sell out big arena's or sell many million records to get past the overhead costs and have the remaining slice that they get be quite high.
A big artist covering one of her songs would be a huge finacial boon for her which would also let her "follow her heart" (lyric of one of her unreleased songs). The publicity and the repect gained within the industry (and it is an industry based on respect for past and even more pertinent , present sucess) from being associated with a winner would help her get her other stuff more broadly played. Bruno Mars wrote songs for other for years before becoming a pop star in his own right (whether his most recent lyrics are vulgar or not.. many weren't before)

Songwriting is what got Lady Gaga and Jessie J's feet in the door too - they wrote hits for other artists before they became recording artists themselves. I think this approach can also work for Haley and Kris Allen as both are strong songwriters.
As for 19, Haley is still with 19 Management but split from 19 Recordings when her deal with Interscope was terminated.
