^^^OK - thank you for finding that, John.
That's certainly isn't the way I envision/hear Irvin's take on HOTRS. I'm thinking something more along the lines of his Just a Closer Walk with Thee (without the gospel slant).
(I apologize for the loading problems and questionable recording quality.)

After listening to these songs a LOT - my favorite performance is Come Rain or Come Shine. Wow that one just gives me chills, especially the last minute or two. At first I was dazzled by yet another awesome performance of Moanin' - which is also so good. I am still listening to Himms recording of all 3, I swear I can hear Babbs in the background every time she whoops, lol! I think it's you, Babbs. Anyway - that last performance just blows me away, I'm still listening to it.

@IrvinMayfieldJr Care for a friendly wager? Saints vs Seahawks?

@IrvinMayfieldJr I'm thinking donation 2 NOJO vs dedication 2 @HaleyReinhart by performing "House of the Rising Sun" solo on your trumpet
Yes, I'm nuts, but it'd be a much 'funner' game if Irvin actually took the wager
After I made the bet, I thought about how wonderful of an interpretation Irvin could make of the song. Honestly, even if I win, I would still make the donation, if he took the bet
So Tusk, did Irvin ever reply?? Now that I've spent a couple of days mulling over how this might sound, I'd really like to know how far off the mark my imagined Mayfield HOTRS would be.

No he didn't
I actually tweeted Chrissy too (the gal in the Red dress who sang HTRJ w/ Haley and Casey @ Carnegie Hall), but decided to delete it....
Her Title is the director of Programming, so I asked if Irvin might be interested w/ a 'friendly' wager...but then, because I like to overthink and doubt myself, apparently , I thought, even if I thought it was a harmless offer, in Irvin's position, there might be reasons to not accept something like that, for whatever reasons.
So I decided to delete my tweet to Chrissy, as to not be that type of tweeter, who persistently tries to get attention, getting Chrissy involved in something that they might view as not productive to their cause....
I tweeted him once about it, already, no reason to be a pest and do it more than that
Oh well, what could have been, I bet it would have sounded sweet
Great game though
One game from the Superbowl

Were you in the balcony for Haley's show at the Chicago Theater? Were they good seats close enough to see well? I am seeing Ringo in June and the balcony is the cheapest.

We were in the 2nd row center of the "loge" which is the forward balcony closest to the stage. They were $120 seats. For "A Christmas Story" musical I was in the cheap seats further back in the balcony. Those were $50 seats...OK but not a feeling of being "right there"

Ok that helps a little. This will be my 3rd time seeing him live so its not a big deal to be super close. But I'm still excited!!!

Then at least you can get a close up view of Ringo!
