I could see them doing some pre-wedding stuff and emphasis on bonds with family and friends. He nervously meets with her dad to get his blessing, her dad eventually offers him gum and they are smiling and relaxed. A friend gives her a piece of gum at her shower, and he gets one that a bachelor party. They could put a humorous twist as he looks at the wrapper, gives a subtle smile or shake of the head and crumbles it up. There is all the nervous energy waiting and preparing on the wedding day -- give me some gum. They make it briefly look like he is contemplating a drawing several times, but it never happens -- they are reserved for her. The final wedding kiss at end, cut to wrapper drawing of the couple in a car with cans dragging, then a stylized color wrapper drawing of the Extra Gum pack and logo stuff.
Haley sings it sparse initially, but then bring in a fuller band sound and somewhat stronger vocals to the crescendo at the end.
