RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - Babbs234 - 01-01-2013 It's funny. When I told Harry, I was so excited that Haley was making an appearance last night, he kind of looked at me, and said, " You know, she's just a kid". I think meaning shes just an every day kid. It's not that big of a deal. WE are the ones who are making a big deal... But without us, where would she be. And she is SO talented. I guess I have to be careful in the future to contain my excitement. ![]() Mr. Babbs comment ( he understands, but is not a big fan) was, "She's definitely a cut above the rest" ![]() RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - midnightblues - 01-01-2013 thanx for the info Babbs RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - My Alter Ego - 01-01-2013 (01-01-2013, 12:08 PM)Tusk Wrote: [ (Per the bolded statement ![]() Congratulations to all of you who had the opportunity to hear (and frequently meet) Haley in person in 2012 -- and, Haley4vr, to kick it off in 2011. That's why he wanted to print up the hi-res calendar for me over in Wheeling before he left, so he could deliver it so Haley could have it with her when she went back to LA (01-01-2013, 01:50 PM)Babbs234 Wrote: It's funny. We see that in Haley's responses all the time...the apple doesn't fall from the tree, they seem a very grounded family, and part of the Reinhart charm RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - midnightblues - 01-01-2013 Ironically if this is the proper word, I have seen hundreds literally hundreds of Hailey's pictures and out of that I have probably only seen her not smile maybe five times. I don't think she's capable of not smiling in a picture ![]() ![]() RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - Swansteel - 01-01-2013 LOL. Just how excited were you acting, Babbs? Were you jumping up and down and giggling like a schoolgirl? Were you screeching and pulling at your hair? Were you running in little circles going "whoo hoo, whoo hoo"? Plus, in Harry's mind I'm sure Haley will always be "just a kid." At 22 sure she is young, but certainly not a kid anymore. It's a parental perspective kind of thing. ![]() RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - Babbs234 - 01-02-2013 (01-01-2013, 08:36 PM)Swansteel Wrote: LOL. Just how excited were you acting, Babbs? Were you running in little circles going "whoo hoo, whoo hoo"?Swan , I was jumping up and down in my chair like a little kid!! HEhehe I was very excited knowing she was coming and kept thinking, " Who can I call and tell" when I first found out. I was texting everyone I knew. I just had a feeling that she was going to show up. her mom mentioned it on stageit, and then haley was sending instagram photos of herself yesterday. I was thinking ,well she must be home, sitting around sending photos, the bar where her parents play is close to where they live, I bet shes comin. When Haley came in, (she was with that guy in the green jacket in the pictures) there was a murmur... Haley's here, Haley's here. She stood in the back of the bar with this big grin on her. She had relatives there but I went running right over there to see her. I got 2 pictures with her and was maybe (no way) going to post them, but i hate me in them. boooo But Haley sounded great. It was fun seeing her sing with her Mom. Their voices are so different. Spiderweb was the last song. Haley sung the first verse, and she and her mom sung the chorus together. Then they kind of traded off lines till Haley gracefully bowed out. After she finished singing, Haley was surrounded by people. Her parents kept playing but noone was listening. ![]() ![]() ![]() She stayed about an hour total then said she was going out with her buddies for NYE. The whole bar said goodbye to her. My husband just sat there smiling at me all night. watching me say... "I can't believe shes here!! Wait till i tell everyone." lol It really was surreal. RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - buzzenator - 01-02-2013 ^ Babbs I can imagine how excited you were on the exclusive you had from Harry, had to tell someone...anyone. Good thing Mr. Babbs agreed to go... ![]() As far as the "she's just a kid" comment from Harry. I still see my daughter as the little girl I raised, but now she is married. Father's are protective...Harry could just be trying to lower the expectation bar, not wanting everyone to over hype his daughter, make her into something she is not. He could be worried that putting her on too high of a pedestal might be too big of a fall for his girl if things don't work out...as Patti and Harry have 'rubber meets the road' experience in the music and entertainment world. I can remember some quote attributed to them, probably in 2011, about concerns with "Hollywood types" having influence on their daughter. They understand how fame, hype, other people can unduly influence someone into thinking too highly of themselves. At least we know Haley has parents sensitive to these issues and we see how well grounded she is...still, Dad's worry about their daughters. ![]() Thanks again Babbs for working NYE for us...tough job ![]() RE: New Years Eve, 2012 - Babbs234 - 01-02-2013 (01-02-2013, 06:03 AM)buzzenator Wrote: ^ Babbs I can imagine how excited you were on the exclusive you had from Harry, had to tell someone...anyone.
