I hope you're joking. The young woman next to Casey is Haley Reinhart, they've performed together many times. The girl next to her is Bianca, a singer/songwriter from Chicago that Haley, another Chicago girl, befriended in the last year. Next to her is a friend of Casey's from Idyllwild Arts Academy. Jackie Tohn, who was on American Idol prior to Casey and Haley, is among the group. Casey's worked with her before. There are other singer/songwriters among the gals too. See the credits for names.

It was supposed to debut tomorrow, but the latest of Casey's backyard video with friends, "Great Bright Morning" is posted a day early in this exclusive Billboard article.

Casey does it again. All warm and fuzzy. The dog is a nice touch - for a Casey backyard video. Haley looks great.

Watching this video really reminds me of Haley's SMYM 'strategy' with Yahoo's exclusive. Casey had been posting that it would debut tomorrow, then suddenly Billboard has an exclusive. I think the thinking might be to get paid for exclusive rights, so they don't have to go through an unknown quantity, especially as there is no real promotion behind it, and many people will just download for free anyway.
I think that's what Haley did for SMYM video instead of trying to 'sell' it on iTunes. It's cash up front for exclusive premiere?
Or am I 'overthinking' it ?

I think the strategy is publicity -- for the song and for Casey more generally. SIL is a nice video, released in Oct. 2013. It has 119,000 views in 16 months. I think he is trying to attract bigger numbers and more iTunes sales.
It seems the issue is losing YT views. But what's a YT view worth anyway?

There are many many people out there making a living or at least supplementing their income based on views and subscriptions, Scott Bradley being one. A TON of his videos have been uploaded on bogus channels who steal others videos for their own. I see "Habits" pop up everywhere now
At least for now, as part of the Google machine, a Youtube view doesn't matter, millions/100s of thousands of views, well that's another story
