Can some one give me a step by step to upload an image from my desktop? When I choose a file it says the type of file is not allowed. I'm using a jpg.

Step-by-Step using ImageShack: http://haleyfans.com/showthread.php?tid=356&pid=975#pid975
The option for adding attachments is at the bottom of the screen when you click "New Reply." It won't display the image inline at full size using that approach. I don't favor this option because the photos are added to the database that powers the site.

Hi LASL, Miguel's step by step is good but in case you're not familiar with the technical jargon maybe this will help:
(Ctrl + Scroll to make larger)
PS. If this doesn't do it for you there are other "How To" videos on YouTube. I just searched at YouTube on "how to use imageshack for forums.
I got frustrated on that...I hit reply on one of the posts and saw imageshack in the photo link. As a neophyte I opened a free account at imageshack an uploaded some pics, then right clicked on the uploaded pics and selected "view image info"...then copied that link and put the proverbial [img][/img] in front and back...it worked.

I always upload my pictures to photobucket and use the img code.
Or most of the time, if the picture is from a website and I dont want to upload it, I just "right click", hit properties and use the url that ends in .jpg. (Kinda figured that one out by myself one day, not sure how exactly). That might help some of you who have trouble

I'm a firm believer in knowlege being the key factor to gaining empowerment over Evil Mr. Computer. So I highy recommend at least a quick glance at the short and easy to understand explanation of "tags" and basic BBC stuff at Wikipedia.
