It reminds me of a 'speed reading' class I took, probably the same concept.
They would flash sentences for a quick time then we would be tested on the what the sentences were about. Trying to train our brain to catch and make sense of the bits we did see.
You would think my short attention span would help in this case, but it never 'took' for me
