JA does have the whiniest, complainiest fan base I have ever seen.
Comment on the JA Official post:

Wow, she really went out of her way to dig through the ja songbook for this one. Attention singers, there are more ja songs than white rabbit and stl. She’s probably never even heard Baxter’s while tripping
I would also note that almost everything that JA Official puts up on Instagram is vintage JA related material. Very few exceptions. And now it includes Haley, too.
RE: "What's That Sound" - tracks, cover art and release date - Tusk - 01-28-2019
To be fair, I talked that JA fan down and the conversation turned out well...it does happens sometimes

@seajay2300 Haley’s family have been long time fans of JA, her mother idolizes Grace Slick. Her parents have played in their own band in Chicago for over 40years, so try again

@haleystusk I idolize PAUL KANTNER and MARTY BALIN, the founders of ja. They have sooo many good songs, it’s a shame people play the same two pop songs( not even written by ja by the way), they were great society songs grace brought to ja when signe anderson left. Give some love to the unheard tracks

@seajay2300 had Haley performed those 60 year old songs, songs most of the 15,000 people likely never heard of, they’d assume it was hers. Haley had a limited set opening for Steven Tyler, by performing a well known song, it might trigger some to look JA up, even find some of the songs you want to get more love. Maybe they might learn about Kanter and Balin. That’s how music works. I’m a JA fan, even when they became Jefferson Starship, so I’m thrilled Haley is getting a nod from them. Haley’s 3rd album is full of 60’s songs covered in homage to those bands and her parents who have played in a band for over 40 years and still perform. She already has approval from Rock and Roll 2019 Hall of Fame inductees @thezombiesofficial for her “Time of the Season” cover and the Turtles for her cover of “You Showed Me”. The album was a salute to her and her parents’ idols and it’s fantastic they approve. You should know Haley is sincere in her appreciation of those that came before, can she at least get props for that? She’s one of you, a fan. No video does Haley live performances service, if she comes near your area, highly recommended you see for yourself Peace

@haleystusk I’m just an angry little man , that girl is diggin on my favorite bands and that’s awesome. I’ll see her if she comes to az, and I hope she considers Eskimo blue day, twilight double leader, or lawman etc etc

There is a site for buying and selling audio equipment called "Audiogon." It has a forum related to "music." Someone made this post yesterday:
Quote:Haley Reinhart... What’s That Sound?
Guilty pleasure... disturbingly so. The recording is a step above MP3 and the material actually fairly pedestrian. But Haley and Company manage to infuse new life into these tunes which were originally performed by minimally gifted musicians and singers.
It’s not Shostakovich or Miles. It’s just fun and strangely interesting with superior musicianship applied. Haley gives great energy and at just 28 years, I think her material will mature.

I had to laugh a bit at "originally performed by minimally gifted musicians and singers". Seems to be a bit of genre-snobbery at work here.
Nice words about Haley, though!
