RE: Next album will be blusier - abc890 - 05-29-2013 They went to Greece together. I hope this is more than a friendly reunion. Either way, whether Warner Bros is the a way she goes, Alex is a good person to have her in her corner!! Indeed, exciting stuff is around the corner ![]() RE: Next album will be blusier - Miguel - 05-29-2013 Alex is a success-oriented guy with an apparent feel for the industry. Even if he doesn't sign her, he can give her good advice. So far as we know though, no one else is there with them so it might just be a friendly reunion. Wonder who initiated it... RE: Next album will be blusier - Tusk - 05-29-2013 From that article it seems she fits his wheelhouse... It does appear extremely informal... doesn't preclude business potential though ![]() He doesn't follow her yet but he did tweet it (or hasn't Haley warned him about her Haliens? ![]() RE: Next album will be blusier - Miguel - 05-29-2013 First comment to Alex's photo is interesting: "aliaut @alxwlhlm I wanna write with her plZzzzz" RE: Next album will be blusier - Swansteel - 05-30-2013 ^^This is pretty exciting stuff and feels like a real step towards bigger things. It gives me a little tickle in my Swan Sense, for sure. As far as Haley's musical direction, I strongly doubt she is planning on becoming a mindless dance music drone. She is too smart and too talented for that. Okay, so I will probably have to wait for that album of standards for a while. Still, Haley hasn't let me down yet, and I have high hopes for some wonderful music coming from her soon. I would be shocked if her new output were to turn me off completely. *fingers crossed* RE: Next album will be blusier - john - 05-30-2013 The wit and wisdom of Alex Wilhelm: Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 28 May Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 26 May Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 25 May Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 21 May Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 15 May Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 3 May Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 24 Apr Quote:Alex Wilhelm @alxwlhlm 1 Apr Most of AW's tweets are like these and he doesn't tweet a lot (although he tweets regularly). Personal tweets like the one with Haley's picture are few. RE: Next album will be blusier - 30CamdenSquare - 05-30-2013 Saw Tusk, Miguel & Rachel talking about this on Twitter. I'm going to go out on a limb here & say that I think Haley is probably very close to signing w/ Warner Music Group. Here's why I think this may be happening soon. 1) Rob Kleiner http://www.robkleiner.com/about.php "is currently in employ at Atlantic Records" (a Warner label). I don't know how long he's been there, but I know he was there when Haley got together w/ Rob & Skyler to write back in January. And yeah, I think Haley talked to Rob about Atlantic back then, probably even before that, which might've been part of the reason why.... 2) During her trip to Asia Haley said something to the effect that she was considering a number of labels but Atlantic was the only label she mentioned specifically... I think the ball was already rolling because Haley doesn't tend to mention things to the press unless something is already happening. 3) Haley goes to the Ole writing camp in Greece, passing up a chance to perform in the American Idol finale in order to do so. It makes more sense knowing that Alex Wilhelm was there and it was probably was part of IDK something to do w/ her potentially signing w/ WMG. 4) Skyler Stonestreet just signed w/ Warner/Chappell in April... & I'd be surprised if Haley didn't Skyler didn't talk more about it at Haley's pool party. 5) Haley has dinner w/ Alex & HE posts her pic on Instagram. What do you think the chances are that he doesn't know about her fanbase & what we're like, 1 in 1,000,000? OK last thing. Is it just me, or have you guys noticed that Haley doesn't like to come right out & tell us what's going on. She's likes to hint at things, drop subtle clues, talk in little riddles and see if we can figure it out for a while first. I think keeping things a little mysterious is something that just appeals to her (& is probably one of the things she likes about The Fab Four) but it's really smart too. She creates a lot more buzz around herself on the social media sites by doing this than she would if she just came out & told us everything matter of factly. And more buzz basically equates to additional media exposure. RE: Next album will be blusier - Himm2 - 05-30-2013 Atlantic/Warner has come up a number of times.Way back at Thanksgiving when Interscope pulled the plug and an Atlantic exec followed Haley on Twitter, I had a brief chat with Haley as she was getting out of a limo at the Thanksgiving day Parade and made the comment "I hear Atlantic may be picking you up?" Her response was "Oh, is that what they're saying?" and then in late January this year Patti Reinhart mentioned the Warner Group to me as a possibility. RE: Next album will be blusier - stairway2halien - 05-30-2013 Alex and Haley followed each other on Instagram yesterday around the time he posted the photo. Haley uses the word "bluesier"-but that could mean all kinds of things But she also mentions more rock oriented and mentions that she'd like to have her Dad play guitar throughout the album.I don't know who will play guitar on it but I'm definitely expecting a more aggressive, guitar driven sound on the record than what we heard on Listen Up. |
