No one actually thinks this will ever happen(at least I don't think so). We're just having a bit of fun. RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - mercfan3 - 08-23-2015 If Haley becomes big enough someday he might. But he's not going to cover any song off of her EP. RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - riley - 08-23-2015 We are all her fans here and I am hoping for the best - I sure hope it happens with her EP but I really want is for one of her songs to get picked up and have success - she will make a lot more money and recognition in the industry for being not just a singer of covers. Not a bad thing tho...: RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! I didn't suggest that Scott and PMJ 'cover' one of Haley's songs. I suggested that I would like to have Scott put his spin on one of Haley's songs. I wasn't suggesting that there be a PMJ video, etc. But, I would like to hear one of Haley's songs 'back in time' and have Haley record it. Now, if I could only find my meds ........................ Not a bad thing tho...: I agree. Haley needs to have "her" song break through, but as we all know, the playing field in the music business is so tilted, it is hard for someone, even as talented as Haley, to break through. The labels anoint their stars and put the money and promotion behind them. We all know the deal....here's hoping Haley can be the exception... Regarding the "Better" release, it would be so cool if Scott Bradlee allowed her to put her PMJ songs on the release in addition to Haley's new songs. The PMJ songs are already done and could be added easily. The PMJ songs already have a built in audience (millions!) and would help push her CD sales and it would also promote PMJ even more. But I guess if Scott did that for Haley, he would have to offer that option to all his singers and it would dilute his PMJ brand. Oh well.... RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - Rachel - 08-25-2015 This is just my opinion, but Postmodern Jukebox Haley covers and her own musical career need to be kept separate. This goes right back to people only thinking Haley sings the best style of music when she's covering other people's songs. Just like American Idol. If she had an EP with her own music, and also covers with PMJ, she'll never be able to get away from that. She is not a cover artist. She is her own artist who happens to do some covers with PMJ for YouTube on the side. RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - Tusk - 08-25-2015 My favorite genre is "Haley" ![]() The covers tide us over, are a good way to grow a fan base by singing familiar songs, but it's Haley's talent potential as a song writer, vocalist and performer which is what I'm most excited to discover ![]() RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - XAtlantic - 08-25-2015 When I read this I also thought: no, she'd never want that to happen either way (one of her songs PMJ'd or a PMJ cover on her album). But I am not sure I'd agree with you, Rachel: (08-25-2015, 01:30 PM)Rachbobach09 Wrote: She is her own artist who happens to do some covers with PMJ for YouTube on the side. I think Haley is a complete performing artist - she has a very strong artistic production of her own, and she can and will always sing the gems of music that suit her and turn them into something special. It will always be a happening in it's own right, too. There is a tradition in modern music that a particular music is associated with those who created it, and is in that sense owned by them; but equally, someone like Haley stands so solidly in the traditions of the genres that she (I think) so deeply enjoys paying respect to their beauty and importance by singing them and causing them to exist in her own voice and time, I feel she will always want to do that. In that sense she is indeed in the mold of someone like Louis Armstrong, who also was like that, and others of that era. Artists in their own right, and artists as singers of great music that exists, with little conflict between the two. So I think no PMJ'ing on her albums. But other performances of many kinds not as an aside, but as one half of the main course. Actually I think you'd agree, Rachel! And Tusk. |
