RE: What's Your Favorite Movie (and why) - cherelann - 08-12-2012
This is the video that made me realize that Haley was more than a flash in the pan. So this is the best video ever on National TV:
The Casey part is just a little bonus...
And this is why they were invited to join Curtis Mayfield at Carnegie Hall.

^ Agreed. It can be tied with IWHN I almost posted it, but didn't because it wasn't a solo performance (even though that wasn't specified). I'm glad you did Cherelann!

^It's a photo-finish with the accolades going to Miss Haley!

^ Buzz trying to remain calm...
I SAID HOTRS...however, in order to maintain intergalactic harmony within the Halien ranks...Buzz will concede that IWHN, B&TJ, Moanin by Haley Reinhart all tied for 2nd place.
And Tom...the ignorant slut remark...that really hurt, I almost blew a tube ![[Image: happy0187.gif]](http://www.emoticonsfree.org/wp-content/uploads/happy0187.gif) ![[Image: happy0129.gif]](http://www.emoticonsfree.org/wp-content/uploads/happy0129.gif) ![[Image: happy0188.gif]](http://www.emoticonsfree.org/wp-content/uploads/happy0188.gif)
Cherelann...I'm never going to disagree with sweet Cherelann, besides I don't remember going into a theatre in the '70s, much less what I saw...so I defer to her memory.
I recently watched The Black Stallion with my 80 year old parents. They're kinda like LovinDa, out of touch and haven't seen very many movies over the past decade or two. I thought they would love seeing Mickey Rooney, someone they grew up with, playing that role later in life. It was great...they loved it and I agree, very moving with wonderful cinematography and soundtrack...

Never in my life have had "sweet" in front of my name. By the late 70's I had almost recovered from the late 60's...

^ LOL - "Sweet Cherelann" is what comes to mind when I think about you,
So was "I felt like I was in another dimension" a result of seeing Black Stallion, or was it a result of the 60's?
It does look like a movie I'd like and I've added it to the "must see" list
(along with about 6 others from this thread ).
And Buzz, thanks for the Anger Management vid. I forgot about that movie, but I loved it- Super funny! Of course it's hard to miss with Jack Nicholson in a comedy role. Also, Adam Sandler, even though I'm not a big fan, I have seen a few of his movies and loved them all (Happy Gilmore, Mr. Deeds and 50 First Dates). And your post also reminded me of a movie that is in the running for my all time favorite, "As Good as It Gets":
Melvin Udall's greatest hits from As Good as it Gets
And perhaps my favorite scene from a movie (for too many reasons to list):
As good as it Gets - Legendary Jack Nicholson

Jack is back by far his best

All I can tell you is I felt like I had been transported to a place where there was no unhappiness. Of course I felt like that several times in the 60's, too, so maybe I was having a flashback, lol.
As Good As It Gets is about as good as it gets...terrific acting, soundtrack & Greg Kinnear was certainly great eye candy. Your favorite scene is probably my favorite, also. Who would have ever thought that Jack & Helen would have such great chemistry.

^ How did Jack get so many memorable movie lines? It can't be that the writers of each script came up with all of them...Jack has to have someone that takes the script and comes up with his alternatives.
In as 'Good At it Gets' his character of Melvin Udall exemplifies some of Jack's best talents...his ability to offend, demean, intimidate, surprise, charm, and be philosophical. I love the line he gives to the Latino housekeeper...Quote:Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Loved the jazz music in the restaurant scene you showed above...Danielle Brisebois "My Only"
Haley could do an album like this (almost sounds like Haley in the song at times)...that would be as good as it gets!
